Weird looking canned coconut milk

Hi -

I just opened a room temperature (70 degrees) can of Thai Kitchen coconut

milk - it looked kind of weird. First, there's an odd slight

greyish/purplish tinge to it, and some brownish stuff on the inside lid.

About half of the mixture was lumpy so I mixed it in. I smelled it and even

took a tiny taste - no odd smell, no off taste. But it looks weird. Anyone

have any idea what this is? Perhaps the can got heated or something?

This brand doesn't have a lot of flavor, but I haven't been able to find the

good thai brands yet.

Sounds like it's worth tossing it just for in case.

It not being mixed in right is normal-- you're supposed to shake it.

However, mine never is purplish or has brown stuff, so it might be best to be

on the safe side like said and toss it.

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "

Mine is usually greyish and slightly lumpy, but I've never had purple

or brown. I wonder what it could be...I'd toss it.
