Guest guest
Taubes and ABCnews are getting closer to what Price found. But they've got a way to go yet. Had a story on diet in America. Basically that the American Medical community has it all wrong with their food pyramid per their story. It believes fats are OK and should eat more of the good fats, i.e. Omega 3's. It is the complex carbs that cause the weight gain. http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/2020/2020_diets020719.html

I disagree. Price's research seemed to focus mostly on the role of micronutrients in the diet, with the emphasis on animal fats being due primarily to the fact that they happened to be rich in fat-soluble vitamins. Taubes and the people who wrote the ABC article missed the point entirely when they advocated the consumption of olive and vegetable oils over animal fats. Sure, they got the part about fish right, but that's nothing new. -- Berg bberg@...
Guest guest
Someone needs to call them to task for ignoring Price's research and all the other evidence that saturated fat does not cause heart disease, but I don't see any forum options at that site. I guess people still need to be de-programmed against using animal fats, as opposed to vegetable fats, in their diets. I've never heard of the Weston Price Foundation up until about a month ago, but I've pretty much been following his theories on my own these past 8-9 years! I've been on a high-protein diet, eating a lot of organic eggs, whole organic milk (not raw, unfortunatley), a lot fish, chicken and beef('s). I don't eat any grasses, and it's derivatives,of any kindI've been feeling great with no health problems whatsoever! The cod liver oil I've been taking is by Dale , and it's in the emulsified and flavored (mint) kind! I've heard of Carlson's, but since my local health food store didn't carry it, I just purchased the one by Dale's! However, I've never had the experience of re-mineralization that some people have reported here! I've just received my first batch of coconut oil a few weeks ago and learning how to cook with it. Does anyone have any recipies on how to make mayonaise and salad dressings utilizing coconut oils?? My only vice seems to be the occasional sugar-free soda, which I know contains a lot of acid which in turn tends to wreak havoc on my teeth's enamel! For sweeteners, I use Splenda. Before that, it was Equal. (Yipes!!) 8^) Any feed-back and input would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks in advance...
