Guest guest
Until 2 years ago I lived in Ventura County, CA. I don't know of any grass fed meat sources there. The only grass fed beef I know of is New Zealand beef sold at Wild Oats but you'd have to go to LA for that. Guest guest
Well there are lots of strawberry fields and such. I don't know of any farms that raise beef cattle. There used to be a few family organic produce farms. I don't know if they are around anymore. You can check out the farmers markets for that. I know there are people in Ojai , Filmore and Santa a and places like that, that raise their own chickens for eggs. I don't know that they advertise. I just know that a guy I worked with did that and so did some of his neighbors. I think he lived in Ojai but I am not sure anymore. Sorry I am not much help. Doesn't sound like there's much local farming going on. too bad...i was asking because i was encouraging someone on one of my pet health lists to feed her dog *pastured* meats/organ/bone instead of factory farmed and told her to check around for local farms that pasture their animals (she's in ventura cnty). oh well...thanks again. Guest guest
Harmony Farms in Montrose (Outside of Los Angeles, Ca) sells range fed New Zealand meats. They even sell special meats for pets, and it really helps keep the cost down. I don't live in that area anymore, but I know they have a wide delivery area if you order a minimum ($150.00 is what it used to be).
