Guest guest
Hello everyone, Unfortunately, my mother in law had a stroke this weekend. Fortunately, it looks like only her moter skills (left side only) were affected. The doctors are saying that what caused it was a combination of stress, " undetected " high blood pressure, and high cholestorol. All this despite strict lowfat/low cholestorol diet for more than 10 years (!) I should mention that she is also diabetic, had breast cancer (supposedly gone now), and severe mental illness (she's heavily medicated for depression and anxiety). I would love any advice specific to stroke sufferers--I am trying to slowly introduce her to NT, but it hasn't been very successful so far. When I told her about the dangers of soy, she looked at me like I was trying to convert her over to Satanism. Despite her numerous health issues, she has absolute faith in the medical establishment and I know my dietary advice will be in direct conflict with her doctors'. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. TIA
Guest guest
The only person I know who had a stroke jogged every day and never ate red meat, and everyone figured he was the healthiest guy around, then had a stroke. He's a wonderful person. Hmm, perhaps low-fat diets _cause_ strokes? I wish I had advice. It is a heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature. Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the truth, and for those who do them wrong.
