Garlic being the most important as its a natural antibiotic. Will regenerate the nerve, neutralize the toxins and give you energy too. Usually use 5000 mg. capsules available from Puritan's Pride to get the megadose needed if its a full blown abcess I didn't catch. Start with 6 a day reducing over a week even if its gone just like an antibiotic. Thats 60 raw cloves a day when one clove is considered 500 mg. allicin. I've done it with just that but its more effective quicker if you combine it with at least 2000 mg. vitamin C for pain, 1200 mg. of E for healing. Echinacea helps too to build the immune system. This was before NT and now I'd be sure to include the E as the garlic capsules are in soybean oil. You're not very socially acceptable while doing this <g> but it works. Guest guest
Do you mean mg. or IU's for the Vit. E? And am I right in assuming that you mean this dosage of C and E total daily--not each time you take the garlic? I like to use Kyolic brand of garlic which doesn't have the odor or the soybean oil, but I guess it would take a LOT of pills to get the same amount! Also, how long do you stay at the top dose of the garlic? Thanks so much for the suggestions! These are things I am using or getting ready to use already, but the info about the garlic especially is really helpful. Kyolic is a good product. Have used the Kyolic with enzymes but the garlic potency is lower in the mix. The 6-5000 mg. garlic capsules for the first few days reducing over a week is the most I've done. This is for a full blown chipmunk cheeked abcess which I'm prone to. In 3 days its almost back to normal and the rest of the treatment for a week. Less garlic could work on less severe cases. Doing garlic, C & E daily is prevention but something I wasn't always able to continue therefore having recurrances when I ran out of supplements. Additionally echinacea is good for all pus conditions and good for prevention on top of the supplements but only if you feel one coming on. Echinacea over long periods does not prevent. Adding probiotics would have helped me more back then. Haven't had any problems since addition of coconut milk to my diet. That seems to have an effect on the pockets where the abcesses form. >Thanks so much for the suggestions!
