Guest guest
On my last purchase I bought the coconut oil from http://www.coconutoil-online.com/ . It is pure, and the best I have ever tried. Guest guest
Has anyone tried Tropical Traditions coconut oil? It is organic and produced in the traditional ways of native peoples. I find it quite good. Guest guest
Kat, Have you had Mt. Banahaw Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions? If so how does that compare and contrast with this Coconut Oil Supreme from Coconutoil-online? I've only gotten tropical traditions and Spectrum and I much prefer TT to the Spectrum stuff. -- I think was asking about coconut milk though not oil. I can't help there, I've started making fresh coconut cream by juicing a cocnut and that is heavenly, mmmmm -----Original Message----- From: Katanne1890 [mailto:katanne1890@...] Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2002 11:13 AM Subject: Re: Coconut Milk--for Kris On my last purchase I bought the coconut oil from http://www.coconutoil-online.com/ . Guest guest
Sorry--I meant coconut MILK not the oil. I have the TT oil and love it. Still looking for a good, flavorful coco. milk, though. I find Thai Kitchen to be a bit bland.
Guest guest
Hi , I have tried a number of different brands, but don't believe any were the Tropical traditions. I think it was from this group who told me about www.coconutoil-online, and he said he preferred it over Spectrum. Thought I would give it a try, and I REALLY like it. Can't explain exactly, but to me it is not greasy, and has a clear, clean, crisp taste. I ordered 3 pounds so I won't need any for a while, but when I do I will order again this brand again! Guest guest
Hi , Have you tried making your own? You make it like regular nut milk. Soak organic dried flakes in water overnight and put the whole thing (water and all) in a blender (I use VitaMix) and blend for about 60 seconds. Strain and you have coconut milk! *Depending upon the recipe, you don't always need to strain. Guest guest
Hi , I did a bit of a taste test as I was using up a can of Thai Kitchen coconut milk and opening a can of Native Forest brand. It's not a good test, because the TK had been open for a couple days. I think the Native Forest was a bit tastier, but theri wasn't a big difference. The color of the NF was whiter, where the TK was grayer, but I think that varies from can to can. I'm going with the NF at this point, just to support organic - I hope they are worthy of my support. It's a bit more expensive, but not a great deal. Guest guest
Thanks, Kris--I was a bit concerned about the other additives in the NF brand. Maybe TK has additives too but they just don't list them. ps-thank you for the kefir grains...I'll send you a check for the postage soon. They are nice and round and even thickened my milk up a bit (with my other grains the milk didn't thicken). ----- Original Message ----- From: Kris Sent: Saturday, August 24, 2002 11:11 AM Subject: Re: Coconut Milk--for Kris Hi , I did a bit of a taste test as I was using up a can of Thai Kitchen coconut milk and opening a can of Native Forest brand.
