I think the problem with the interbreeding thing is that the GM salmon are bigger and they may compete regarding breeding. Since they are bigger it's believed that the GM salmon will win out against the smaller wild salmon. The problem is that those GM salmon are supposedly sterile. So there won't be enough fertile salmon to reproduce. I guess the sterile ones get all the action, but are shooting blanks. Yikes.
