Guest guest
I thought a good rule of thumb was 1/2 ounce per pound in weight. So, if your 100#, drink 50oz per day ----- Original Message ----- From: msjlclaire Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 10:11 PM Subject: Another Quasi-Poll: Water Consumption Hi dear list, How important do you think water intake is? I know we've already discussed water QUALITY ad nauseum, so this is more a QUANTITY question. I was leafing through " Your Body's Many Cries For Water " and have been drinking as many glasses as I can get down ever since. I don't know about all the author's claims (insufficient H2O intake is the cause of all disease), but dehydration can be a big issue. Just wondering what all you bright, wonderful folks think and do. Guest guest
Hi , I love that book, and believe that sufficient water is vital, but disagree that the quality of water does not matter. I have a great water filter, but still had a hard time gagging down all that water. Then about two months ago I was introduced to a product that makes " thin " water, something like the structured water but more like dew. When you touch the water your hand feels moisturized. It was only a one time cost of $50.00 for a bag that makes this water for life! When I first started to drink the water I could not get enough and drank about a gallon per day for a couple of weeks. My guess is that it re-hydrates you on a different level. I cannot believe the difference. I have spent years maintaining clean bowels, blood, kidneys, etc., but with this water I have gone through so much detoxing in the last couple of months and I feel so much better. So my vote in your quasi-poll is both quality AND quantity count. Theoretically if your body is balanced, it will not dehydrate. A lot of us have a CF gene or two and don't balance water well: and a lot of medical conditions or too much coffee or diuretics or drugs will also cause it to go out of balance. Before I got my diet in order, I ALWAYS craved water, and, I had not enough tears or saliva. Both are ok now, and I crave water less, but I do drink a fair amount. If you drink too much water, it also tends to flush the B vitamins out of your system though. So I don't think there is a simple answer to that question! Guest guest
Hi : Gee, I seem to agree with Kat quite a bit these days! I found the book very interesting, too, but also feel that quantity AND quality matter. I definitely think quality matters and do not drink straight from tap even if the chlorine has been allowed to dissipate. But as far as the amount, I'm still undecided. Since reading Dr. Batman's book, I've read others claiming that we don't need that much or none at all. Supposedly, we get enough in the foods we eat, etc. Personally, after reading the book, I tried to drink at least 8 cups a day, but I was also starting juicing big time. I had a really hard time getting all the fluids down. I was able to do it for a while, but later I found that when I cut down on the water to, say 2-3 cups a day, I felt noticeably better. Keep in mind that I currently juice 6 to 8 cups a day. During the winter months, I find I need even less water. I wonder if it's the quality of water that I'm drinking that determines how I feel. I usually use distilled. I tried Gerolsteiner, but that made me feel really ill. I don't think I'm used to it. Kat: What water filter do you use? Also, in one of your previous posts you mentioned feeling better doing your liver flushes. Do you use the Epsom salt/olive oil protocol? TIA, Marla > > Hi dear list, > > > > How important do you think water intake is? I know we've already > > discussed water QUALITY ad nauseum, so this is more a QUANTITY > > question. Guest guest
Marla and Kat: I didn't mean to imply that water quality isn't important (I think it is VERY important--just like milk and meat quality), but we had a discussion on filtration, etc. a few months back and I just wanted to know what people thought about quantity as well. Kat--I too would like to know more about this " dew water " filter. Please give us the details.
Guest guest
Hi Marla, > Kat: What water filter do you use? ** I filter with Multi-Pure (contact me if you want more information) because it is one of only 2 companies that have labratory PROOF that it does what it says it does. ** As far as the dew water (again contact me if you want more info because it takes a bit of explaining), it is a new product made by a man who has only been offering it to the public for 10 months, and already there are over 10,000 happy users. >Also, in one of your previous posts you> mentioned feeling better doing your liver flushes. I suppose any will do, but I have been working in the alt. health field for over 20 years and always adapt things to my specific needs. So, if your 100#, drink 50oz per day My MD son says the push to drink so much water is overblown. But I might point out that water in soup, juice, any kind of beverage counts toward your total. Guest guest
Hi Kat, I just read an article in the new AcresUSA about Electronically Enhanced Water (New technology: This water-treatment system uses radionics to produce water with lower viscosity (eliminating the need for surfactants) and enhanced nutrient delivery.) This sounds something like the water you use. They get remarkable result in farming a variety of crops using this specially treated water. The process is so extraordinary I had to read the article to my husband - something we never learned about in school! They relate it to the water used in homeopathy. It helps to explain why my garden struggles with regular watering from our city water, but perks right up with a good rain. The article may be available on the website at some point, but not yet. http://www.acresusa.com/magazines/magazine.htm I'd like to have more info about the water and the product. Guest guest
Hi Kris, I'm not sure what Kat is using for her water, but I drink something called Prill water. You make it with " Prill beads " that only have to be bought once and then they are able to transform the water on an ongoing basis. Now one of the problems is knowing how the water is different. It tastes so much better to me and what really sold me is when I checked my General Vitality (with a radionics device--given that you have to give credence to this and many peole don't but anyway) it went way up with the Prill water. Also, someone I know who uses radionics as well as a Prognos device (Russian developed technology that measures meridian imbalances) found that everyone he checked who drank the Prill water had an improvement in their meridian imbalances. I know they were making fun of it (the company who sells this) a bit ago on the Live-Food list but I don't know that any of them had actually ever tested the water. All I know is that it hydrates me well, it tastes great and my plants look so much better when I water them with it. I'm trying to find out the ORP of the Prill water is but haven't yet. I'd love to get that article and see what they are doing radionically to the water, I have been meaning to subscribe to Acres-USA anyway, hmmm. Radionics in itself is a fascinating discipline but pretty much off the map in any traditional scientific system. -- P.S. a far as the poll, I think the problem with quanity is often that the quality of the water is so poor that it doesn't actually hydrate the cells and with better qulity water you can stay well hydrated with less, also the quantity is best taken slowly throughout the day instead of a whole lot fewer times throughout the day, I never drink more than 4 ounces at once except right after I do my karate training, than my body insists on 16 ounces now !!!!! -----Original Message----- From: Kris [mailto:kris.johnson@...] Sent: Saturday, September 07, 2002 1:41 PM Subject: Re: Another Quasi-Poll: Water Consumption Hi Kat, I just read an article in the new AcresUSA about Electronically Enhanced Water (New technology: This water-treatment system uses radionics to produce water with lower viscosity (eliminating the need for surfactants) and enhanced nutrient delivery.) Guest guest
Hi Kris, The below information sounds interesting, I will try to check back later to see what they say. The water I am using doesn't involve electronics or radionics, but does lower viscosity. You can feel it in the water, it feels like a light moisturizer on your hands. There is nothing complicated about it. You take this bag of beads, put it in a glass gallon jar, and 1 hour later you have this wonderful water. The beads don't dissolve so they last a lifetime. These products have only been available for 10 months, and to tell you the truth, when I first heard about it I thought it was another waste of money, but because structured water is so expensive I thought for $50.00 why not try it? I am so glad I did. Because the information is extensive I will send it to your address instead of the group. Guest guest
I used to need to drink LOTS of water (or else I couldn't sleep at night), but my water consumption dropped quite a bit when I switched to celtic sea salt, and quite a bit more since I had my mercury amalgam fillings replaced. Now I might drink just a couple glasses a day. Maybe my kidneys are happier now. -Linnea > ----- Original Message ----- > From: " msjlclaire " <jc137@...> > < > > Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 7:11 PM > Subject: Another Quasi-Poll: Water Consumption > > > > Hi dear list, > > > > How important do you think water intake is?
