Guest guest
Hi Dave Your letter really hit home for me as I have the same problem except I actually have had both knees replaced, and the one that was done last has given me a lot of pain. They were both replaced due to arthritis, then I lost 150 pounds, and thought my quality of life would improve. that's when i had the beginnings of my back and neck problems and had to quit my job and go on disability. My ortho dr. who specialized in knees and hips said I had tendonitis and said it would go away, then told me he wouldn't be accepting my medicare insurance any longer. I'm in constant pain with it, and my back pain actually started with sacroiliac pain radiating down the outer side of my thigh to my knee. I even sleep with a pillow between my knees to try to lessen the pain. I never have known anyone else with this problem, so now I know from reading your post that this isn't normal. My pain dr. said I need to search for another ortho dr. who specialty is in knees, I've been putting it off because I just recovered from emergency gallbladder surgery, and am sick and tired of drs. and hospitals. I was told to use ice, my knee is actually warm to the touch. I'm just puzzled because the entire knee was replaced, so when I get an appt. I'll ask if it can be related to my back pain. I have no swelling in that knee either. I know I'm not really helpful, but knowing someone else has the same pain is a relief in a way, I was beginning to think I was a hypochondriac! All I can do is tell you that my pain dr. said to find another ortho dr. Good luck, let me know if you find out anything before I can. I'm sorry you have to suffer this knee pain along with everything else. Jeannie ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. It goes against everything your told. losing 150 lbs ( congratulations ) should make many a back, knee, joint problem go away ! I now where a knee brace by day, and put an ice pack on it sometimes during the day, but always at bedtime because the pain is so severe. I'll let you know if I find out anything.
