Hi ,

So happy to hear that your computer is revived. Sorry to hear that

will need surgery. Prayers and hugs for the both of you. It is very easy to

sink into depression at this time of year. You need to take some time for

yourself even if it's in the bathroom if need be. Whatever works, I hope you

feel better!!

Hi Sheena,

" Ling..no white christmas eh? We usually have lots of

snow but not enough to even shovel yet!! which I dont

mind! "

SHOVEL? Now I am beginning to feel fortunate that we do not have white

Christmas here, hehe.....

However the weather here is getting crazy recently - heavy rain and

unusually strong winds.

Hi Sheena, Yes, the girls were so excited when we got to pick them up, the first thing they all said was, Mom, did Santa come to our house and leave us presents??? They were worried that if they weren't here he wouldn't remember them... We told them why of course!!! They were so excited... Lots of love and Hugs we all had...Was Sad when we had to take them back though, they just did not want to go :o(

Other than that we had a Great time...

How was your Holiday besides busy as usual???

Have a Great New Year !!!

Awwww, thanks for thinking of her Dawn! She did better than her Mother! LOL

I actually cried the first 15 or 20 minutes when she looked soooooo happy

getting on the bus and leaving me. Of course, I was hiding behind a tree so

no one on the bus could see her Mother watching her. LOL She didn't come

home as excited as she left. Told me tons of stories about a kid getting

expelled, fights, and just plain old meanness going on. I think her bubble

has burst! I can't believe that makes me sad, but it does. I really do want

this to work for her. To me, she looked like the happiest kid in the world

getting on the bus, but when I tucked her in bed tonight, she told me she

almost turned and ran back to tell me she didn't want to go. :-( or :-)

? LOL All the practice we did going from class to class, and we were going

to the BOYS gym...not the girls. It was the only time she got lost today!

LOL She was even able to help other new kids open their lockers. One of her

study halls is in the main office, sorting the teacher's mail. LOL She's

not happy about that one! LOL I told her she has to give it a month or two

and if she doesn't like it, she can come back home. Sorry you asked now

Dawn? LOL

Hi !

So how are things going this year with school? I'm torn about her going to

school. I hope she likes it, I hope she doesn't. I hope the work's too

hard, I hope it's too easy. I hope the kids are nice, I hope they are mean.

I am one confused Mom this year....with all my kids! LOL I want my easy,

nice, quiet, peaceful life back! LOL Do you think will be content

this year? Letting them go at this age is harder than letting them go at 5

years old I think. I've enjoyed having her home soooooo soooo sooo much. I

love the way she loves to learn. After almost losing dh, I want all my

family here. :-( Shedding giant tears here.

Gail :-(

<< Gail,

My tried school last year. SHe was in 7th grade and wanted

desperately to play basketball, but the laws here at the time, forbid

homeschoolers from participating in sports. (They have since changed, so

she is going to try out for the team as a homeschooler this year) So, I

agreed that she could attend school during basketball season only. SHe,

up to that point, was adamant about not liking homeschooling. (She had

gone to 'regular school " through third grade)

She lasted 4 days. Saw the complete waste of time and the " meaness " of

the girls there. Said " you dont' know if they are being nice to you to

make fun of you, or if they are really being nice to you " . Had about 2

hours of homework every day, but couldn't tell me what they accomplished

in class. SHe did like Spanish class, and learned quite a bit in 4 days.

In her reading class, she was given her assignment, and started. She got

through 4 of the little booklets they told her to read and the questions

to answer, and then asked how many she was supposed to do in a

day-figured she may have to bring home some to finish. The teacher told

her that she would only have time to finish one a day and be accurate.

Out of 40 questions (10 per booklet) she missed one question.

After 4 days, (and one basketball intramural practice-where they refuse

to allow parents in the gym-but I got to stay just that one time as a

nervous homeschool mom-and the practice was a joke) she begged to come

home. Some say I should have made her stick it out. I am totally

comfortable with my decision. Now, piano, I'm making her " stick it out " ,

but not public school.

SOmetimes they just need to see that the grass is greener at home!

LOLOLOL Gail!!!!! Sounds like me the first time I put Maddie on the bus (I

followed in the car the entire way, never once losing sight of her little

sandaled foot through the window...LOL

Poor ! That sure sounds like an awful lot of negative activity in

one day (someone actually got EXPELLED on the first day--that's gotta be a

record...LOL). I hope she adapts quickly and makes tons of friends!!!!

Yeah, but Donna, Becky is almost 12, not ds or asd!!!!!!!! LOL Things are

better today. LOL An eighth grader threw a wad of gum in her hair. LOL

Yep, a tiny thing like that has made it easier to let her go now. I think I

needed to hear her say it wasn't what she thought it was, and MAYBE I was

right about it. LOL It's just awful to take comfort in our kids

misery....NOT!!!!! LOL

Sheena,

To see which members are still here, you can either search by email

address, or look at their id's at

/members remember that some

people have changed their email addresses since you were here last. You

can also search the archives to see what has been going on with

everyone. Ling and Pegasus are still here. We all understand that life

is so much more than this group, so everyone understands that you can't

be here all the time, it's the nature of the group. Were you here when

all the changes went down with owners? Well, everyone right now is

grieving the loss of Carolyn. Did you ever meet her? She was a

wonderful lady. She will be greatly missed. Well, gosh, I don't

remember the last time you were on here, so, to recap...of the old

people who are gone, I think you will remember Aisha (of course),

(the owner , we now have another that was

recently made moderator) Nerys (she sometimes sneaks around)...ummm,

can't think of anyone else. Oh! Lee is back! Jessi and I finally

(after much nagging) got her to come back. I sure did miss her singing

in the chatroom! Jessi has a better memory than I, so she might be able

to tell you better what has been going on. Glad you're back!

Hugs,

catching up

...glad to hear...you're hanging in

there...life just got too busy for me ...for awhile i

had to clean my plate of the many things that i

do...that was cutting into the many things that i like

to do

so hopefully ..i'll be by here more often ..i miss you all...how's Ling?

Still here girlfriend? Pegasus?

Is there a list so i can see who's new and still from

the old gang?

WOW! Time sure flies when you are having fun. Look forward hearing how you make

out with your mappings. Now the fun begins and you hear all kinds of sounds

around you.Sorry to hear about your hubby but have faith and something will come

up.Have fun on July 4th.

catching up

Hello everyone,

I've been jumping around posts these past couple of days since I've

been busy. I know, I should read my digest more but I like coming

into the group to see newer post that haven't came through digest

LOL. I think I've read everyone's posts tonight.

I did want to welcome all new members and undecided CI'ers !!! You

find a great deal of support here. NO MATTER WHAT THE BRAND. And

anybody telling you different is just wrong. I didn't have this

problem (maybe I just give off this " don't mess w/me " glow). You

stick to your guns and don't doubt your choice just look ahead with

anticipation on hearing again. All three are wonderful brands, each

having different pro/cons, features, etc. I spent 2 YEARS trying to

decide which one I liked best before even getting evaluated so I know

it's hard but don't take anybody's negative remarks toward the other

brands to heart. As for being moderated ie or others, I have

no clue, I'm too new so I can't go there. I do know this group is

very friendly and there are members with all three brands so know you

are getting true helpful advice. I have and I thank everyone for

that. My thought, got something bad to say take it to YORK. hahaha

Thanks everyone for the clarifications on my upcoming mappings. I

was confused a little on the tcoil and whisper settings but not now.

I'm getting so excited!! Just 9 days left 8 if you count the 1st for

drive time to Denver LOL. and I decided to have a 4th of July

BBQ when we get home so family and friends can stop by to see how I'm

doing.

On another note (sorry). may loose his job. The gas plant he

works for had to shut down due to some problems with a high

temperature pipe. They don't know how long it will take to fix so

's been calling around trying to find back up work, we'll know

for sure Tuesday. SOOOOOO, I've been wallowing today wondering if my

surgery was a mistake since we do have to pay for some of it. I just

hope everything goes through and well and we don't loose our house.

My mother said if my CI works at least I can get a job (I don't want

a job, being mom is hard enough LOL).

Anyways, it's late, and I gotta get my beauty sleep. Sorry so long,

may not be online tomorrow which is why. Take care!

Hi !

So good to hear from you! I'm so sorry about your ear and your UTI. Good

grief, enough already. Do what the doctor says and take good care of yourself.

I'm glad we will be hearing more from you!

Had to laugh...I was thinking something along these lines...Poor

sweetie...If you wasn't so darn good and picking yourself up and

dusting off (or cleaning up the blood) I'd be worried to death about

you!!!

Ok...you can relax for a bit now...you've had your string of bad

You must be exhausted with all the packing and unpacking. Plus

Jo!!!

That is SO not funny! No casts or stitches for me!! Actually...I went back

to urgent care today. They said to come back if I wasn't feeling better in two

days. Well, last night I started a low fever. Since being there I have not

had any of my 5 AM bathroom trips (very odd), and my back was starting to hurt.

One urine sample, two vials of blood, few x-rays, and a pelvic exam later I

was told that I am WAY backed up inside. Majorly Gee....and I thought it was

just me. So, now I am awaiting the results of my mag citrate cocktail. That

stuff is as nasty as I remembered it!

The doc said that since I have had several abdominal surgeries that

adhesions are a risk (duh) so if the mag citrate doesn't work or if I am not

feeling

better in two days to take my gaseous self to the ER so they can ultrasound me.

I am rooting for the mag citrate, myself.
