Guest guest
Mac, DO NOT unsubscribe to ANYTHING. That is how they pass on " live " email addresses! All the computer experts are warning of this. When you unsubscribe to these spammers you are trusting the integrity of someone who has already proven themselves untrustworthy. When you unsubscribe, all you have really have done is to place you email address on their " sell " list...so all their slimy associates can send you their garbage. Either delete (you get to know which ones are porn by the subject line) or place the return address in your blocked list. Problem is, these creeps use fake addresses so each time they send something to you it is with a different email address. I have gotten to where I just feel sorry for people who have to live this way and delete their garbage with gratitude that I don't have to live that way. If you use Outlook ... well, I won't use Outlook and that's that. (I get SOOO many virus's from Outlook users!). But I suspect you can filter on the body of the message in Outlook too. Guest guest
I have said time and time again that private schools are great if you have a child who is " normal " .If your child has any special needs or is gifted they cannot handle and don't accommodate this.I am glad that you moved your child to a public school and are happy like myself. So many times people send their kids to private schools and if there is a problem just ignore it.My friend is a good example.her parents are " very Catholic " and always sent all 12 of their kids to the parish school through 8th grade and " private Catholic schools " through high school. She can hardly handle a job and has many problems that weren't address when she was younger. Of course it is past the point.I wish more people like you would see this and do what you did. Good for you. Gretchen in Missouri

On several occasions your entries have caught my attention b/c I see similarities in our children's clinical symptoms. You mentioned your daughter has a frontal focus. How was that determined? My daughter has been a very complex case. She began having sz's at 10months, hers too were primarily nocturnal with eye deviation (left) and right sided tonic clonic activity. She was completely controlled on Keppra for 9mos. She relapsed last June and we have yet to regain sz control despite loading Lamictal and adhering to a strict Atkins diet (a type of ketogenic diet). Although after the induction of the diet her sz's were decreased by 50%, she currently has 16-20 nocturnal (or during nap) sz's/wk. her sz's have changed in appearance as well. All four extremities are now involved with tonic activity (although asymmetric) and she seems to be more aware during the sz's and on occasion even tries to vocalize..a breathy, grunty " h e e e e lp m e e e e " is not uncommon to hear. Our problem is that we have already had extensive testing but all of the data is discordant. Her long term video EEG shows seizure activity in the left central parietal region, her most recent MRI shows evidence for left mesial temporal sclerosis, and her clinical symptoms present like frontal lobe sz's. After 3 1/2 months of persistence we are scheduled to be admitted to a comprehensive epilepsy center on Monday (10/14) where she will undergo evaluation to determine where her sz focus is as well as if it is surgically remediable. Sorry this is so lengthy, but I'm just curious about your experiences with discovering 's focus as well as what medicines/treatments if any, have worked for her just in case Jordan's does turn out to be frontal.... Sincerely,
Guest guest
, Since ashley's seizures are nocturnal only, she was admitted into a sleep lab at Wake Forest Hospital. It was there that they told me the seizure focal point. Sofar, we have been on Keppra, Lamictal, Depakote, Tegretal, and finally ended up on Zonegran which she went four months seizure free (don't think the seizure free period was medication related) however, we are still on 300mg of Zonegran per day. She still continues to have 2-3 brief 7-9 sec. episodes during the night. I must tell you though, out of all the meds we have been on, Zonegran has the least cognitive side effects. But I guess that could vary with each individual. We are scheduled for hospital admission next week to begin the keto diet, will let you know if it works for her. Let me know if you want to compare more notes. IIf it helps, 'll be glad to share all that I can. God bless, Tracey
Guest guest
Hi Maggie, and all! Maggie, you're right about meals for 10 being a challange. And THAT's my biggest problem/challenge -- meals. I tell myself all the time that if I had someone preparing meals for me, I could really do it. I have a hard enough time with meals without even considering the impact on my figure. Unfortunately, I don't know of an easy way, so how do I cope? Sometimes I eat the same as they do, but less of it. Sometimes I have them fix their own (the oldest is 19) and I eat what I " should " . Dinner's are the hardest. >Hi ! >Welcome to the group! You'll find lots of great info and support here. >You have 8 kids??!! Guest guest
If you are interested, I have a meal plan system that teaches you about planning ahead and cooking ahead. IT IS NOT GEARED TOWARDS LEAN MEALS! But, I use the concepts and do my own lean meals using the principles in the book. Also, there are mixes involved that take just 1 - 3 ingredients and about 5 minutes prep and 30 or less to cook. Some of these are okay to eat on BLF and many are not. Your oldest kids are definitely old enough for you to delegate some of the meal responsibilities. I don't want to post all info on this site because this is my business and I don't want to use this site for that. But, you can email me directly at JeanetteEdgar@... if you like. Guest guest
i found that you can pretty much cook normal. Roast and baked potatoes, tacos, soup, baked chicken, meat balls. Cook so that you will be able to eat what they are eating, but maybe in different portions. karen lyons wrote: > Hi Maggie, and all! > > Maggie, you're right about meals for 10 being a challange.
