Guest guest
Two of the best sources of potassium are potatoes and bananas. The one is very starch-dense and the other is very sugar-dense, and both are high-GI foods. If we get rid of them, we are getting rid of two very important micro-nutrient sources, in my opinion. While most fruits, etc, have potassium, it is important to have very potassium-dense foods in the diet to help balance sodium. Having increased potassium enables us to add more sea salt into our diet without throwing out of whack our sodium-potassium balance, causing mental inefficiency and other problems, thus increasing our trace mineral and especially iodine intake for a healthy thyroid. Of course people can be healthy without them, but nevertheless, especially in terms of _affordable_ foods in our region of the globe, these I think are important. And from reading and from my own experience, potatoes are fine if they are eaten with lots of butter (baked) or oil (roasted), and bananas are fine if I eat one split between breakfast and lunch, rather than a whole one with one meal. Chris ____ " What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature. Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the truth, and for those who do them wrong.
