Ha Kat,

MMMM, that fil mjölk sounds really great. I would love to try it. The only

place I can find where you can order a stater is Gem cultures but if I

understand it al right they don't ship the fjil mjölk to the Netherlands.

I'll send them an email. I also have to find out how to pay with other money

than our euro's. When its going to work will you let me know more recipes I

could try?

Greetings,

Heleen

Hi Heleen,

I just got the fil Mjolk last week and already have made 3 different

recipes with it. I will be posting as I go along! Hope you find some soon.

Also, I am surprised you cannot find any from Sweden. My family is from

Sweden and they all know about it. They use it kind of like we use yogurt

here.

Hello Kat,

Can you tell me a little more about that filmjölk?

How do you make your filmjölk? You use just some original filmjölk and put that

away with milk or is de starter something different than just some filmjölk?

In Sweden they don't make their filmjölk on their own. There seems to be 10

different sorts of filmjölk in the stores for not much money.

Greetings,

Heleen

Hi Heleen,

Fil Mjolk looks a bit like yogurt. You add 1 tsp. fil mjolk to 1 cup milk

or cream or nut milk, and stir well. Let it sit at room temperature for 24

hours, then either eat it or store it in the refrigerator. Easy!

As far as different fil mjolk available, not sure what that could be. Just

like kefir is kefir and yogurt is yogurt, fil mjolk is fil mjolk. My dad

and my aunts and uncles all remember fil mjolk at meals.

The only difference might be commercial brand names. Also, if buying

commercial, make sure that the product is live. Many brands of yogurt here

in US are pasteurized and either kill or greatly reduce the friendly

bacteria.

Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
