The state health department began an investigation last year after a patient at the center contracted hepatitis C; a patient treated earlier on that same day had a chronic hepatitis C infection. The center is cooperating fully, officials said. So far, no evidence has linked the initial case to the acute infection, and there is no evidence of HIV or hepatitis B being transmitted. State officials are recommending the four patients be tested " out of an abundance of caution, " an investigator said.
