A good many years ago my childrens' school was part of a mass vaccination

drive in England where MR was pushed to all the chilren. (measles and

rubella) There was no mumps component as it was the time when the mumps

strain was being changed. I believe at the time there was a need to use

up these stocks of MR in readiness to bring in the new MMR mix, although

it was of course 'sold' to the public via warnings that a measles

epidemic was expected.

As well as being a parent, I was also a school governor. In that

capacity I managed to get the wording of the letter to parents changed

from the school encouraging and supporting this to the school

facilitating it and making it clear it was the parents' choice. Not much

but all I could get agreement for.

I made myself available on vax day as a volunteer to help out. Was very

glad I did when I spotted my own son being steered in with his class. On

approaching his teacher to ask why he was there when his consent form had

clearly been marked with no - very prominently, I was told the teacher

didn't actually read them as he just assumed everyone would have said

yes!

A few days later scores of children, including my own daughter who had

not received the vaccine, came down with a soaring temperature,

headache,stiff neck, and sensitivity to light. Our homoeopath actually

treated her as though she had vaccinosis, even though it was acquired

second hand. She was lucky, several of her friends ended up in hospital

being subjected to lumbar punctures. Our homoepath said he saw many cases

of exactly the same thing amongst other school populations after this

vaccination drive. I have no idea if there is any official record of

it....
