Way to go girl!!! I also have three daughters (now 21, 17 and 12) and nursed

them each longer than was probably socially respectable. The first one nursed

for about 2 1/2 years; the second for about 3 1/2 and the last actually hit

her 4th birthday before she quit. Of course, toward the end it's mainly an

excuse to cuddle. For a while I had Dr. Sears (Creative Parenting

book, etc.) as our pediatrician and he said that research he was involved in

demonstrated that breast milk changes when the child is about 1 year in such

a way that adapts to the growing needs of the toddler -- he liked to see

women nurse for as long as possible -- at least 2 years. When he talked about

infant feeding decisions, he always referred to formulas as what they are --

" other species milk. " He was a great doctor, but unfortunately he moved away.
