Guest guest
Hi, Is it ok to eat liver every day? I had said before on this list that I think my state of health has deteriorated to such that by eating whole foods and organic, pastured, when possible, meat, and pastured raw milk, is only keeping me " feeling good " and not _rebuilding_ my body. So I was thinking that I should try to have organ meats for one meal every day, or at least 3-5 days a week rather than once a week. The problem is that liver is the only organ meat that is remotely easy to find for me, without special ordering, which would probably cost a lot of money. I don't mind liver, but I'm wondering if it is harmful because of the toxins that accumulate in the liver to have it every day in addition to cod liver oil supplementation. On the other hand, I've just started making kombucha, the anti-toxins of which might over-compensate for any toxins in the liver. I don't know what's in organ meats aside from A & D but they must be damn good for you. When I first tried kidneys I asked the waiter how they were and he said that he thought they were " kind of wierd " when he first ate them, but after a while he started craving them. I made liver last weekend for the first time, a pound, which I ate in three or four meals, and I was kind of craving it already, even though the taste of muscle meat is superior. I just moved back into my dorm at school this week, and some days I've spend a total of at least 2 hours walking, to the point of total exhaustion of my legs and sore feet. I ate the last of my liver when I felt like that and my leg muscles seemed to completely regain their strength a half hour later as if I had slept a whole night! Anyway, can you eat too much liver? ____ " What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature. Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the truth, and for those who do them wrong.
