Guest guest
It's true, and months ago I filled out the referral form on the Standard Process web site, and got no reply. Anyway I wouldn't shell out money to see a professional just so I could buy these supplements -- unless I had another reason for seeing that professional. I question the trend of doctors selling supplements because it may interfere with their unbiased judgement. I saw an 'alternative' doctor once who charged $300/hour and sold expensive supplements (not Standard Process) on top of that. Having just run up an exorbitant doctor's bill for the consultation, you want to take her advice, and end up dishing out for the supplements as well. A while back I posted and got no response -- does anyone have any comments about Emergen-C, those packets from Alacer Corp.? You add water to the powder and it fizzes. I feel good after drinking it, but I have no idea how it's made. Daphne > Where can one order Standard Process products? I was under the impression that only professionals could sell it. Guest guest
Kat, Standard Process products hardly fall into the category of what you refer too IMO. Those practitoners who provide Standard Process know a lot more about nutrition than the average doctor. It has been my experience when people try to treat themselves especially with products containing glandulars without careful monitering , some real problems could arise. Just my two cents.. piimaman
Guest guest
The policies of this Standard Process company makes me nervous. The government has been trying to pass a law that will FORCE us to get a prescription for vitamins from a doctor who has an average 45 MINUTES of nutritional education. Most of you, even the beginners in this group, have much more nutritional knowledge than 99% of the doctors today. So we will get to pay to educate the doctor, for their fee for our " visit " , then pay 5 times as much for the vitamins which will now be called drugs. That is why doctors get to " practice " on us and charge us. The policy of this company seems to fall right in line with this ridiculous proposed law. I have not used their products, but I personally prefer to use products that by-pass doctor visits. Guest guest
Kat, This company has been doing this for over seventy years. There is no conspiracy here. They simply don't belong lumped in with the 99% pure junk in the health food store. They are distributed thru health care practitioners not only doctors. The purpose is not to MAKE YOU go to a doctor to get them. If they were more desparate for your business they'd do what every other supplement company does. Cut rate the product, profit margin it to the hilt, spend much of it on marketing, labeling and hype. They don't do any of that, as a matter of fact much of their marketing approach would almost imply that they hurt their own business on purpose by distributing this way, but its how they always did it and how they continue to do it. Also remember that 70 years ago there wasn't a health food store on every corner, nor an internet. Your concerns regarding SP is unfounded. Realize also that the health care providers who recommend SP aren't what you'd call AMA board members or FDA officals. They are likely to be some of the few providers in your town who have any clue at all. I understand your concerns but they don't apply in this case.
