Ruth, last year the South African Advertising Standards Authority banned a Monsanto advert placed in one of our family magazines (YOU), The complaint was lodged by one of our farmers and anti-GMO activist, who was so kind to send me the transcript of the hearing. Monsanto's lawyers presented as evidence of the benefits of GMOs a testimonial from Covance Laboratories and I started digging and posted my "findings" on Dr. Mercola's website

Seems as though the second statement is nothing more that double speak. Did the farmer and Anti-GMO Advocate miss that one or was untoward pressure exerted to keep him quiet?

In Mexico they are having a serious crisis due to US markets interferring with

their corn

farming. About 1/3 of the average mexican diet is corn. Now they will be

letting more

corn into Mexico to contaminate their over 200 strains of corn. Maseca, the

Monsanto

masa (cornmeal) has been growing in sales all over Mexico. They are preying on

the lack

of education in Mexico. The are huge billborads that say " MASECA, el maize de

esta tierra "

(Maseca, the corn of this land " and they all say " 100% natural. " It is pretty

sickening, since

the Mayas, the people of the corn, can't even grow thier corn now because of

contamination, US subsidized corn being dumped on Mexico, (which caused many

corn

farmers to be impovershed out of growing back in the late 90's so that when we

started

using corn for fuel, there was a shortage of corn farms and now corn prices have

about

tripled in the last couple years so what can mexicans do but buy monsanto's

cheap

subsidized " natural " corn.) Yeah NAFTA, yeah Monsanto. This is called

enclosures of

markets, which I can attribute to the wonderful system called capitalism.

In Mexico they are having a serious crisis due to US markets interferring with

their corn

farming. About 1/3 of the average mexican diet is corn. Now they will be

letting more

corn into Mexico to contaminate their over 200 strains of corn. Maseca, the

Monsanto

masa (cornmeal) has been growing in sales all over Mexico. They are preying on

the lack

of education in Mexico. The are huge billborads that say " MASECA, el maize de

esta tierra "

(Maseca, the corn of this land " and they all say " 100% natural. " It is pretty

sickening, since

the Mayas, the people of the corn, can't even grow thier corn now because of

contamination, US subsidized corn being dumped on Mexico, (which caused many

corn

farmers to be impovershed out of growing back in the late 90's so that when we

started

using corn for fuel, there was a shortage of corn farms and now corn prices have

about

tripled in the last couple years so what can mexicans do but buy monsanto's

cheap

subsidized " natural " corn.) Yeah NAFTA, yeah Monsanto. This is called

enclosures of
