Guest guest
Hello, I joined this group a few weeks ago and you were all very kind. Short version, had back pain and right leg numbness for 6 weeks, got an mri was told gor home and stay there till you see a surgeon, which I did a week later, had a sequestered disk so they decided to do a diskectomy at L1/L2. Had that done and was told had 2 very large to quote the surgeon fragments on my spinal cord. Went home and had a few bad days which I expected but now 3 weeks out almost feel that I am worse than before the surgery. My back feels so weak can barely hold myself upright, call myself a slinky now. I don't know if I'm expecting to much but from what I have read and been told this was supposed to be the quick fix and I would feel almost instantly better. If I sit or stand for to long the middle of my back goes numb and my right leg. I can on a good day drive to town and go to the store but by the time I drive back my leg is going numb. To tell the truth this is now worse than before the surgery, I know I need to give it time to heal and am not sure if this is just from swelling and inflammation from where my cord was compressed or if I am one of the lucky 5 to 10% that have another fragment break off as sometimes get the old stabbing/throbbing pain in the same spot. Does anyone else have any experience with this. I don't know if I'm being daft but am getting fed up when you can't sit at a computer or stand for 10 or so mins without everything going numb. Was thinking of calling the doctor but I don't know. I am beginning to regret having this done as am now worse off than before.
