Antipsychiatry Coalition is saying, in essence, Scientology is good enough to reference and use some of their excellent anti-psychiatry material that exists today, but we're not going to let them in the door. In other words, we'll use you to advance our website but you're not welcome here. This is poor moral judgment. Do we really all have to have the same belief systems to come together against a common enemy? I don't think so. It's too bad certain others are so intolerant of differences -- but only after they've taken that from which they can benefit. I don't care what Scientology has done. Why not bar all Catholics, too? After all, representatives of this church abused more children than any other organization in history. It's all rather sickening.

Guest guest
I agree and was hoping someone would express such a sentiment. I hesitate to jump into the " hates Scientology" fray because I regret the way the "powers-that-be" can and do immediately discount and/or discredit anything they can stain with the label "Scientology." It is hypocritical and disingenuous to list a source as valuable that you will not allow in your "group" because you allegedly have fundamental disagreements with them. I find the data and info from CCHR to be very valuable. And I challenge anyone to deny the very real and meaningful additions to our group made by those among us who do subscribe to the belief system known as Scientology.I believe we are ALL brothers and sisters.Terry Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "ccreel_04064" <catherine.creel@...>Sender: SSRI medications Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2011 12:30:02 -0000<SSRI medications >Reply SSRI medications Subject: Re: Antipsychiatry Coalition - no Scientologists or CCHR please <<No Scientologists, please: Anyone joining us will be asked for assurance they are not affiliated with the " Church " of Scientology or its Citizen's Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), which have publicized the harm done by psychiatry but which we want no affiliation with. Guest guest
I agree except on the Catholic thing, yes there has been abuse but where I think the Catholic Church made a mistake is to refer their situation to psychiatrists and go along with recommendations by psychiatrists, I've seen it over and over in the press. There's more to it than that of course but that is a main factor. Also no one group sexually abuses their "flock" more than psychiatrists. WAY more than the Catholic Church and really the profession of psychiatry has the same moral obligation and position of power over their patients. Especially if they are drugging them which the Catholic Church is not in the business of doing. Are there moral and decent psychiatrists? I know a few. Are there moral and decent Catholics? I know an overwhelming many. After all, representatives of this church abused more children than any other organization in history. It's all rather sickening. ------------------------------------
My cares are for the outcomes for mentally vulnerable people. I spent several hours the other day in the company of a gentleman, who as a boy was at Nazareth Lodge, Belfast & as a youth at Rubane Kircubbin, Co Down. So I am well aware of the harm that faith groups can bring. For the record I am not a Catholic >
