Help! Hi, I am a member of TRAP (where I found out about you guys) and have been tapering diazapam per Ashton protocol (1mg every 10 days to two weeks)from 20mg per day to 10mg per day, where I got physically slammed. Reduced taper to .25mg and now at 9mg and ok. Am also on oxycodone 7.5mg 4x day. Now doc has reduced Oxy to 5mg 4x, so I am forced into a two drug taper and feeling awful. Also on 6mg per day zanaflex. Have multiple myopathies and flunked most recent leg (both) EMG. Had planned originally to taper one at a time: benzo, oxy, then zanwith docs ok, so don't get the change and next appt. is in July. Any ideas on how to most easily walk this forced road? Thanks. wanda

Guest guest
Hi Wanda, You should check out Creel's group Withdrawal_and_Recovery/ I can only add that getting your nutritional side really cranked up and functional should help your body flush the toxins and repair itself. There is a lot of data on getting your gut working right that can affect your mental state better or worse. Much of todays food does not have the nutrients of 70 years ago, eating lots of local organic produce if possible can help. Also you might try a calcium/magnesium mix like AB Calm or Gilliam's CALM with Calcium. What works for me best is really any calcium/magnesium powder you put in hot water and it dissolves more or less completely. Very calming and needed anyway. Guest guest
Thanks Jim, I forgot to add that I had already reduced the 7.5x4 (30mg) to 3.75x4 (15mg) and was steady for 2 mo. The 5mg are caps (no pills avail. checked w/ Pharm) so I will be updosing as well. Doc's solution was to reduce by half again. To 1.8125 4x day- a 7.5 quartered. I will have to updose, as that cut is huge along w/ the diazapam taper. Docs. Thanks for the link. Much appreciated. Guest guest
Hi Wanda, Can the pills dissolve in water? That is another method to taper down. For example dissolve 5mg in a cup of water then drink 4/5ths of the cup which reduces the dose to 4mg. This may be a better idea then what the doc told you. > > > Hi, I am a member of TRAP (where I found out about you guys) and have been tapering diazapam per Ashton protocol (1mg every 10 days to two weeks)from 20mg per day to 10mg per day, where I got physically slammed. Guest guest
Yes, thank you. I watched a titration video from trap for benzos but figured it should work just as well for oxy. Mix caps (3) with pureed baby food- apricot and peach seem best for suspension quality- then after well mixed withdraw 4 equal doses w/ syringes. Voila- 3.75 x 4 = 15mg. More than one way to skin a cat. Thanks so much. From: survivor030406 <survivor030406@...>Subject: Re: oxycodone taper being forced by doc along w/ valium taper. Help!SSRI medications Date: Thursday, May 19, 2011, 8:50 PM Hi Wanda,Can the pills dissolve in water? That is another method to taper down. For example dissolve 5mg in a cup of water then drink 4/5ths of the cup which reduces the dose to 4mg. This may be a better idea then what the doc told you.> > > Hi, I am a member of TRAP (where I found out about you guys) and have been tapering diazapam per Ashton protocol (1mg every 10 days to two weeks)from 20mg per day to 10mg per day, where I got physically slammed. Had planned originally to taper one at a time: benzo, oxy, then zan> > > with docs ok, so don't get the change and next appt. is in July. Any ideas on how to most easily walk this forced road?
