Guest guest
We are going to go to a geneticist to see if we have Waardenburg as my 4 month old daughter and I have heterochromia (and so do both my parents and my two siblings), plus my daughter has a white forelock and a unilateral hearing loss. How was your family tested for Waardenburg? We are in Australia and apparently the blood test for testing it isn't available here.

Guest guest
Congratulations to you both! That is so cool! I can't imagine a better way to start off your new life together. Believe me, that is the way to go! The one thing that still gets me is grocery shopping for my family. Sometimes I don;t wanna get thier junk food, or their WHATEVER I can't have right now (12 days post-op). It sure would be great if they would just eat what I eat. Or don't. Eat. whatever. Anyway, congratulations! Sheri~ > > Hello everybody! > > Getting banded on 11/23 by Dr A. woohoo! My fiance and I are doing it > together. So excited. Guest guest
Hi Sherri,I made an agreement with my husband before I had surgery that I would not cook for the family for 14 days post-op, winter is his slow time, so I knew it was a reasonable request. I told them all, I can't handle cooking what I can't have while I'm on clear liquids!!!! So they all agreed, I didn't shop, cook etc Cyrena

Guest guest
Sometimes ,you may have to lie in order to save the life of an innocent person.Sometimes,u may hv 2 lie in order to avoid injustice . e.g. Some hooligans were chasing a girl with bad intentions and asked an old man standing at the crossroad " Have you seen a girl running through here?Which way has she gone?" Is it right to speak the truth under these circumstances? http://mukulchaudhri.blogspot.com hello this is a very possitive group and i do enjoy reading all the post.. daily..i do have a question..is it ever right too lie. any kind of lie.my own beliefs are its never a good ideal to lie.oh goodness i was told i was wrong.i would like others input.thank youlove to alljudith
Guest guest
This is a most complex question. Although a really good question. There are some things better left unsaid, better not to tell. Perhaps the answer would have to be a bit more creative so that one would not have to life, to avoid a person from being hurt. Once when I was a young teen, an older person came to me and said, how did you like my song? It was horrible if the truth was to be spoken. I smiled and said, well, I have never heard it sung that way. Tact helped me in that situation. How far do we go to tell the truth? A very good question indeed. hello this is a very possitive group and i do enjoy reading all the post.. daily..i do have a question..is it ever right too lie. any kind of lie.my own beliefs are its never a good ideal to lie.oh goodness i was told i was wrong.i would like others input.thank youlove to alljudith
Guest guest
Hi, I agree this is a great positive group. I think although it is usually wrong to lie, there are times, such as to save your life or that of another person or to avoid a physical confrontation, where it may be necessary. Oftentimes we do not want to answer a question with the truth and do not want to lie either. Remember it is not necessary to do either. You can choose to not discuss or redirect the conversation. You can ask a question back such as " why do you want to know? " There are times when you may feel the truth may be too hurtful. In those cases you can ask " do you really want to know (now) " and give the other person a choice. Great question, Judith! Guest guest
Hi, If I am understanding you, and please forgive me if I misinterpret your question, it sounds like what you are experiencing is a lack of alignment between what you do for a living/your daily life and what your principles and values are. It sounds that you are spending rather than investing your time and are are so busy that you cannot fully appreciate and experience your life. To help your situation, you could choose a time every day to slow down, breath deeply and pay attention to at least one of your senses: sight, sound, touch. Notice what is around you and savor it, every little detail. Do this more during your interactions with people, too. As you talk, really look at them, hear them and make the most out of even the briefest encounter. Each moment is full of mystery and beauty, and we are often so hectic and preoccupied we don't realize it. When you stop and mindfully experience your life, you will be able to hear your own heart and life purpose, and reconnect with it. This is a great question and I think a lot of people experience what you describe. Thanks for sharing. Guest guest
> i do have a question.. > is it ever right too lie. > any kind of lie. Judith Under no circumstances should one lie. Of course that is the ideal and the challenges life throws at us is full of grey area. Suppose through our lying we manage to save many lives. Under that circumstance one could possible lie to do a higher good. Viji
Guest guest
Dear Krystle, I do hope you will find work soon. You may have been seeking work for along time already, but this is what I found and I hope something pans out for you. I googled Pharmacy technician jobs in Texas and then in Austin Texas. I got a lot, but I really do not know geography/distance of Texas cities to one another. Guest guest
Hi, I have a second home in the Orlando, Fl area and after reading this thought maybe I should find out the name of a hospital in the area that can do an unfill if required while I am there. Does anyone know one I could go to in case this happens while I am in FL. In a message dated 12/15/2007 10:22:03 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, MoonshadowRN@... writes: Hi, Judy - welcome! Yes, overfills happen regularly. fills are just very tricky to get right, even using a fluoro. Being so tight we cannot swallow our own saliva, are having chest pain (esophageal spasms that CAN be as bad as heart attack pain) and constant vomitting are emergency problems, and must be seen right away for an unfill. If you CAN swallow fluids so you don't get dehydrated (at least 64 oz a day, and much more is better) - then the unfill can safely wait a day or two. But being this tight is dangerous - we can get reflux, or have the stomach badly damaged. So please do not wait too long. I worry when someone (anyone) is asked to wait for a needed unfill. Band cos must be available 24/7 for urgent situations. Not giving someone a needed unfill asap can lead to slips, and the start of erosions, which are verey serious indeed. Can you at least drink ok? No chest pain? No reflux, especially at night? If not, you can safely wait until Mon am if ther is no other way. Please have liquids only. Sip every minute or 2, continually, if needed. Have warm and hot liquids - these will go down better. Avoiid cold ones, as these will shrink the stoma even further. Also, plase a warm heating pad on your chest for 30 min every 1-2 hrs. This will also relax and open the stoma so you can hopefully drink better. Avoid all teh gastric irritants - coffee, caffeine, spicy drinks, citrus. THings like hot apple juice, hot broth, hot chocolate, hot blended and thin soups would be good. I assume you got a fill on Thursday or Friday, and this is why I urge people never to do that unless they KNOW their docs are available for unfills 24/7. Getting a fill on a Monday or Tues is much betetr, as it gives 3-5 normal business days when the doc's office is open to get an unfill easily, if needed. Fills generally must be small and gradual- or this type of problem can happen. Most people need 3-5 small monthyl fills to get safely to a good level without the stomach rebelling. it is VERY grumpy, and hates being touched, so we really have to sneak up with fills, so it barely notices. But even with a small first fill (1/2-1 cc) , it can be too much for some people. Using a fluoroscopy to test the fill after it is given is a clue to if the fill is too much, also. But still, only a clue. How you ARE in the next 1-3 days is the final answer. Hope this helps, and that you can get the care you need soon. Sandy R > > My name is Judy and I live in Ohio. Guest guest
Yes Judy, many of us have had this happen. I had it about 2 months in from my op. I take a lot of medication so when I couldn't even keep saliva down, it was a real issue. I lasted 24 hours and then went urgently back to the doc to take out 1ml of the 2ml he had put in the day before. It was so uncomforable being overfilled and I got the worst headache. The doc said the longest most people last is 3 days but I'm a bit of a sook I guess. (Western Australia) > judyhoff1 <Judyhcolumbus@...> wrote: > > My name is Judy and I live in Ohio. Guest guest
hi dramvann, if this happens while in florida, it would mean that you had a fill in florida. so go to the practitioner who did your fill if you're too tight. it shouldn't happen spontaneously. george > > > > My name is Judy and I live in Ohio. Guest guest
Well..... not necessarily. :-) We can get into trouble at any time with poor food choices or poor eating skills, even long after the last fill (sadly), and need an unfill. , you're very lucky to have had very minimal problems with your Band journey.
