Guest guest
Thank you, Terry. I've heard that changes (starting and stopping) can be very devastating. I'm not the one taking these and I would never take them. I'm just seeing strange signs in a family member and I'm questioning if this is what could be going on. This family member is being very secretive. I know other things can cause these symptoms, but after I read that a psychotropic drug could do that, I wondered if this was what was going on. I'm going to go check out drugawareness and see if they answer that question there. Merrie > > Please go to www.drugawareness.org and read about too-quick withdrawal. Any change in dose, type of medication, even time of day that meds are taken can trigger many negative effects. Starting and stopping is a sure recipe for problems. > > Terry > Sent via BlackBerry by AT & T > > Dementia & Psychotropic Drugs > > I have a question. > > I was reading on the Internet tonight that psychotropic drugs can cause symtoms of a dementia type illness in normal people. Is this true? I also read that psychotropic drugs, given to a person with a mental impairment, would cause that person to have an accelerated mental decline. Is that true? Also, if the person were to stop the drug, would their head suddenly clear up? Like they take the drug for a day or two, stop for a day (their head clears), and then start the drug up again for a day or two, etc, etc. Could a person in that way appear to go in and out of a dementia? > > If psychotropic drugs would not cause this, is there a drug that would cause this (something that looks like dementia, heavy confusion and memory loss)? I have a family member who is showing these signs and won't disclose whether they've changed their medications or not. I am very concerned. > > Thank you. > Merrie >
