& is becoming a regular on the recall list. Yesterday the WSJ reported that the company had issued a recall of some 70,000 syringes containing the injectable antipsychotic medication Invega. Cracks found in some syringes have lead to under doses and even infection of patients.

Recalls cost J & J about $900 million last year and this year is not shaping up to be much better so far.

In January the company pulled 43 million bottles of certain types of Tylenol, Benadryl, Sinutab, and Sudafed products that were made at a Pennsylvania plant that may not have been cleaned properly.

I will be on the lookout for more J & J recalls in the coming weeks. Hopefully I will have nothing to report but judging by the recent history I will probably be revisiting the topic sooner than later.
