Thanks ,

Interesting. I must say from what I have read on her site I agree

in spirit with her

methodology. It's amazing to me common sense solutions are so

vilified.

http://www.drmyhill.co.uk/wiki/Summary_of_my_approach_for_CFS_/_ME_sufferers.

I understand Wessely's group believes it's all in the mind,

nothing physical to treat. I read Wessely et al do psychotherapy

and aerobic exercise. The exercise might detox some by sweat maybe

but if the patients can barely get about I don't know how

practical that would be.

I made several friends working for Dell in the late 90's who were

gulf war syndrome victims, one had a chunk of lung removed, he

said he could bang it on the table it was so hard, he was

stationed next to the burning oil fields the Iraqi forces lit on

the way out.

another friend was in such bad shape it was appalling, I would

drive him in my car to his car he was so weak, he couldn't breath

very well, sounded very stuffed up and looked really bad off. I

would be surprised if he is still with us.

There is no way those men were psychiatric patients, in my opinion

those men were extremely toxic and some sort of detox might have

helped.

In a nutshell Jim it is because of the way she treats ME/CFS

Dr Myhill is a very gutsy lady Jim, good luck to her, she will

certainly need it when up against Wessely.

BTW Wessely would have you believe that those who suffer from

Gulf War syndrome are psychiatric patients
