Last night, my husband and I ate dinner at BJ's Restaurant in Oakridge Mall (San ). I ordered their tomato bisque soup (enjoyed it with a few Glutino crackers I brought along) and then had their balsamic chicken entree. The entree was two grilled chicken breasts sitting on top of lettuce leaves with balsamic dressing drizzled over them and was accompanied by a nice mound white cheddar mashed potatoes. Unbelievably delicious and, best of all, it felt so "normal" to go to a restaurant and order a real dinner entree off a menu!

I noticed a family with three beautiful children sitting at a table nearby. A g-f pizza was delivered one of their little girls. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go over and say hi to them. Their 6-year old daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago, and they had heard about the g-f menu at BJ's. It turns out that they are part of our own Bay Area Group!

After chatting with them, I realized what a wonderful connection celiacs have with one another and that we are all in this together.

The pizza there is pretty good too! Glad to have another place to take my family to get a decent GF meal.
