Guest guest
I hear you and have been there all too often. Vent away. I was just talking with a friend today about people we know who have decided to give up gluten but cheat all the time making it hard for people to take Celiac's seriously. I just wanted to share a wonderfully thoughtful experience that I had the other night. A dozen of us were celebrating our birthdays in a luxury box at the A's game. Of course I didn't touch any of the food or birthday cake that everyone else was enjoying. I had a baggie of nuts and raisins with me. My cousin was so sweet - she brought me a piece of strawberry shortcake from Cafe Gratitude so that I could have something when we blew out the candles and ate dessert. Often I get ... just a little won't hurt from some of my family so I was very touched. Maia
Guest guest
Relatives and friends seem to be more supportive if you have that official diagnosis. Of course, if one is self-diagnosed, a "white lie" might be worth doing in some circumstances.
