Guest guest
Does he have this all of the time? Have you completely eliminated all gluten? When I first eliminated gluten, one of the only ways I'd known I'd been glutened was when I'd get this strange taste in my mouth that was almost metallic or just...odd...I could never really describe it. It would last about 3 or 4 days. From: karenmcd1188 <karenmcd1188@...>Subject: [ ] metalic taste Date: Thursday, June 3, 2010, 11:25 PM Hello, Has anyone heard of having a metalic taste in their mouth. My 10yo that was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease has been complaining of a metalic taste in his mouth and I have no idea why, he is not on any medications and no visible blood in his mouth. Has anyone experience this???? Thank you
Guest guest
Hi, my daughter also used to complain of a metallic taste when she was first diagnosed. Her doctor said that gastrointestinal damage can cause a metallic taste in the mouth, and that it would lessen as she started to heal. Now that she has been gluten-free for over a year, the metallic taste is gone. A metallic taste can also be caused by poor iron absorption, which may also be a complication of Celiac. Hope this helps, good luck to you and your son. > > Hello, Has anyone heard of having a metalic taste in their mouth.
