Guest guest
Just added all locations from the Asqew website to the map - also recently added the BJ's Brewhouse, Miglet's Bakery, and Jule's Thin Crust Pizza. Good times! http://bit.ly/dxDlgn -JoeOn Tue, Jun 8, 2010 at 7:03 AM, CalicoSue <susan.hersom@...> wrote: I am thrilled to say that Asqew Grill is offering a g-f menu! They have three locations in San Francisco, one in Emeryville and one in Mill Valley. I have eaten in this restaurant, and their food is delicious!  They specialize in skewers, rice, grilled veggies and soup!  I have uploaded Asqew Grill's new g-f menu in the Files section of this group.  Their g-f menu will appear soon on their website and is available in their restaurants. Mark Nicandri's (the owner) little daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease a couple of years ago, so he has been diligent in creating a wonderful g-f menu.  I have cut and pasted his email to me below - AND the most exciting news is that he is asking if we know of any fundraising events or drives focusing on celiac disease.  He is willing to use his company to help raise money and awareness for celiac disease!  Geez, it just doesn't get better than that!  Does anybody have any ideas or know of any upcoming fundraisers?  What a great opportunity for us!  Please let me know so I can pass it on to Mark. I'm not sure if Mill Valley or Emeryville are in the area that qualify for the North Bay Celiac Group's g-f restaurant list, but if they do, can someone add them to their restaurant list?  Same with the google g-f map - I'm clueless how to add restaurants to this list.  We really need to support a restaurant who is willing to " go the extra mile for us! " Here is Mark's email to me: It's good to hear from you!  To answer your question; yes, we do have a gluten-free menu!  I am actually quite proud of it and I think it is one of the better menus out there.  We are in the middle of re-doing our website and will have the menu available on our site hopefully by the end of the month.  In the meantime, we do have signage in our restaurants promoting our gluten-free menu and have print menus available.  I'm actually presenting our menu and doing a tasting with the Gluten Intolerance Group of Marin tomorrow night. My daughter is now 7 and is doing great.  I am extremely proud of how she has adapted and her level of awareness regarding food.  I must say, in the 2 ½ years that this has been part of our life, I am amazed at how the quality and quantity of gf offerings has grown.  You know when General Mills and Betty Crocker are putting out gluten-free offerings that the awareness has reached a whole new level! Are you aware of any fundraising events or drives focusing on celiac?  Over the years I have been able to use my company to help raise money or awareness for many different causes and would really like to be able to do that for a cause that is so personal. Thank you for reaching back out to me! Mark ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Joe, thank you for adding Asqew Grill to the g-f map! Also, my post of Asqew's g-f menu was kind of a long post, so if you didn't read through it, the most important part of the email (besides the wonderful g-f menu!) was the part about Mark's (the owner) offer regarding any fundraiser event or drive focusing on celiac disease. He is willing to use his company to help raise money and awareness for celiac disease. If anyone knows of any upcoming g-f event or fundraiser, please let me know. Mark is being very generous offering to help us raise money. Sue > > > I am thrilled to say that Asqew Grill is offering a g-f menu!
