Purpose of list

It seems to me that people use this list for two purposes, and that those

purposes sometimes conflict.

1. Those who use it to socialize. These are the users who often take

advantage of the three-posts-a-day limit, and would probably post even

more frequently if there were no rules.

2. Those who use it for information. These folks would probably be very

happy to receive no more than one or two messages a day.

There really is no way of completely reconciling these two separate

missions. (Two lists? No way, for a whole host of reasons.) However, those

who are looking strictly for information should consider switching to a

" digest " subscription, so that you'll receive just one or two posts a day

consisting of all the day's messages. You'll still have to scan through a

lot, but it should be quicker than going through tons-o-mail.

To switch, go to:

And log in with your user name and password. If you threw out the message

you got when you first subscribed, and if you ignored ALL of my posts on

how to log in and manage your account, well ... drop me a private e-mail

at dkennedy@..., but please don't post questions to the list.

Dear Kees,

I have been a member of this list for one year and I agree with you. I bring up subjects to mostly no response. We need to include more subjects and topics and respond to more people. I don't want anyone to use this list to make a living but I do appreciate info on products used successfully and where to get it. Anyone else like to respond to this?

I've also brought up subjects that no-one has responded to. As i understand

it, it's because no-one really knows anything about them so they have no

information to respond with. I've also noticed that this isn't a very

social group. I've tried to start conversations but it seems that no-one is

really interested in that form of communication.

Would you like to try to get a string started on a particular subject?
