Guest guest
Hi My family is heading up to Seattle for a long weekend visit. Any recomendations for good GF places, especially toddler friendly? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone
Guest guest
The Gluten Intolerance Group of North America is based out of Seattle. Their site is www.gluten.netIt looks like Earl Ley is the current coordinator for the Seattle branch. He can be reached at earl.ley@... Have a good trip. If you drive up, I can tell you some of the must stop places along the way.GF ChefMichie PageOn Thu, Jul 29, 2010 at 9:39 AM, Ahroon Yoch <ahroonyoch@...> wrote: Hi My family is heading up to Seattle for a long weekend visit. Guest guest
I went to Seattle recently but only ate out twice. Seattle is very gluten-free friendly! Much more so than the bay area... I would try portage bay cafe for breakfast/brunch.. I wish had one of these places in SF it is so good! They have TWO kinds of gluten-free pancakes! Actually, they now have THREE kinds (I just checked out their menu again). The pancakes have a trip to the toppings bar, which is essentially a table with fresh fruit, whipped cream and other stuff to put on your pancakes. If you're afraid of cross-contamination from that, I'm sure they'd be happy to bring you some fresh fruit from the back before they put it out on the table. There are 3 locations in seattle, I remember there being around a 30 minute wait when I went on a Sunday morning for a table for 4 but they are very kid-friendly. http://www.portagebaycafe.com The other place I went was called Etta's. Its not kid-friendly and is a more upscale seafood restaurant. The staff was very knowledgable about what was gluten-free and what was not, and they modified my meal to make it gluten-free. I had a good experience there as well. Have fun on your trip! Alison > > > > > > > Hi > > > > My family is heading up to Seattle for a long weekend visit. Guest guest
We loved Haley's Corner bakery in Kent (a Seattle suburb). It's a small place and we enjoyed their baked goods (cookies, etc.) a lot. they also had pizza - this was summer of 2008. http://www.haleyscorner.com/ I think Seattle also has some of the chains like Claimjumper and BJ's Brewhouse which have GF menus. There is also a PF Changs in Bellevue where we ordered take out. BTW if you are with a dog, moor Park in Redmond is the greatest off leash dog park we've ever been to.
