Guest guest
No. I would not take a pill such as that if it existed. Why ? We have been very lucky in that hasn't had extreme medical problems, so maybe that is part of it BUT I believe things happen for a reason and God knows why (I just wish he would let us in on it more often !). Anyway, is not just defined by her dwarfism but it is a large part of who she is - her personality, her behaviour, etc. She wouldn't be if she wasn't a dwarf. Of course, she would be someone else just as lovely I'm sure !! ;-) Because we love her unconditionally, I wouldn't change her one bit (except maybe to stop the 3 year old pouty tantrums!). To us her dwarfism means we have to visit docs once a year to monitor things, that she has to be carried sometimes because her " knees are tired " , that we modify a few things around the house like stairs and such, and that her 9 month old brother is the same size as her. However, it means much more to her - being smaller than her peers (considerably), not being able to climb through the Mc's playland, not being able to play tag, being told she looks like a doll, difficulty out there in a large world, and being obviously different to name a few. I guess what I'm saying is that her dwarfism affects her alot more than it affects us - which makes our job as parents to be educated on dwarfism & related things, to be compassionate, and to make the opportunity to meet other dwarfs a priority as we try to raise her with a strong sense of independence, self assurance, and stubbornness - to not take no for an answer in the world out there (maybe the three year old thing will help later!) . My two cents, Cori
