GF, vegan cake for special event

Hi everyone,

I am coordinating a special diet table for a local event in San Francisco and am looking, in particular, for a cake of sorts (fake ice cream would be great!) that’s vegan and gluten free to feed about 28 people sat aug 14th (a lot of contra dancers are very aware of their food needs!) I'm combining dairyfree/vegan and gluten free because there's enough crossover that that seems like the easiest solution. If anyone knows a great place, preferably on the cheaper side although I STILL don't have my budget for this endeavor, that would be great. I will also need snacks for the whole wknd, many of which I will probably get from mariposa as they are close to me. Any suggestions appreciated, in particular places that have samples would be great, as I'm sure you all know sometimes these things don't taste nearly as good as they look. I will be coming from oakland to a place near SFSU, so anywhere along that route would be extra good, otherwise we should have people coming from various places who can maybe pick things up.
