Guest guest
Ok, enquiring minds wish to know so here is what we know right now on DMSO, DMSO cannot re-align DNA as far as Dr. knows... He doesn't see how it could. Dr. 's has been researching DMSO since 1961 when he was head of the organ transplant program at Oregon Health Sciences University. There is no proof clinically nor scientifically to back up this statement to date. This does not mean it doesn't just that there is no proof yet. DMSO, when taken internally (orally), once inside the body metabolizes it into MSM over the course of the day. The reason this occurs is because DMSO will oxidize and turn into MSM. MSM only has 1 oxygen more than DMSO. Other than that they are exactly alike structurally and chemically. DMSO is (CH3)2SO and MSM is (CH3)2SO2. It is interesting what effects one little oxygen atom can have on a compound. MSM has the ability to penetrate the skin, just like DMSO, but will not carry any thing else with it as DMSO does. This is because the MSM is stable having two oxygen atoms. DMSO is not as stable and will bond with whatever is available to bond with and will then carry it through the skin. However, due to the molecular weight of high density polyethylene DMSO cannot bond with it and carry it through the skin. DMSO will only carry chemicals with a molecular weight of 3000 or less through the skin. HDPE has a molecular weight of several hundred thousand and upwards. According to Dr. 's, USP Grade DMSO supplied in HDPE containers is perfectly safe and will not leach any plastic. This is the recommendation of Dr. 's for using DMSO internally -- 99.9% pure DMSO, if taken orally, should only be at a 4% strength so dilution with distilled water to 4% would be 1 litre of distilled water to 20 ml of 99.9% DMSO. For external use Dr. 's recommends that any usage above the shoulders should be at 50% strength, if put on straight.. Below shoulders it should be 50-70% if used straight. Never use full strength DMSO (99.9) on your skin. It can create a severe burning sensation. Dr. 's states that it can cause burns if used at this concentration. Taking DMSO internally should not cause any problem if a person is on medication (i.e. high blood pressure or cholestrol). There apparently have been some very rare cases. DMSO eases pain, reduces inflammation. Because of its lack of one oxygen makes DMSO an excellent free radical scavenger. This could prove useful in treating arthritis and rheumatism. It is very helpful with scleroderma patients suffering from ischemic ulcers on their fingers by healing the ulcers and relieving the pain and stiffness associated with this affliction. These are just some of the uses DMSO has found in the field of health care and healing. Anyone that is interested in reading more about DMSO and some of the research that is going on can go to Dr. 's web site on DMSO by following this url: http://www.dmso.org/articles/information/muir.htm Peace, love and light, Don Quai
