Guest guest
You have to buy gluten free oatmeal. Most HFS will carry Bob's Red Mill. Regular oats become contaminated with gluten in the manufacturing process. Vicki > > Is oatmeal acceptable in a Gluten free diet? >
Guest guest
I have a bag of Bob's Red Mill " whole grain steel cut oats " that are gluten free. These are made with non-GMO " pedigreed " seed stock and " sampled hundreds of times and tested with an R5 ELISA gluten test to ensure the absence of gluten. " They are packaged in their new gluten-free facility. Most oatmeal does have gluten - cross contamination is the problem both in the field and in the plant is what I understood, but if you look hard enough you can find some that is gluten free. The back of my package even says " Please be advised that a small percentage of people with celiac disease may not tolerate even the purest of oats. " So despite the care that is taken with this particular product, there are still some people who can't tolerate it even though most can. HTH, Janelle >>>No. Red Mill has gluten-free hot cereal, made with rice, buckwheat, or millet. >>>Oatmeal ALWAYS contains gluten.
Guest guest
My son eats both the Bob's Red Mill certified gluten-free steel cut oats and the Bob's Red Mill certified gluten-free oatmeal. We haven't had any problems with either. He is on such a limited diet (no eggs, gluten, casein, nuts, peas, corn, rice, artificial colors/flavors/pres, limited fruit) that he only eats two items for breakfast - oatmeal or pancakes made with Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flour. > > I have a bag of Bob's Red Mill " whole grain steel cut oats " that are gluten free. Guest guest
Instant oatmeal is just more finely ground or chopped than either oat groats/ish oats or rolled oats - you can make it yourself in a blender. > > I am not sure if this has been mentioned before - but I found Gluten free instant oatmeal at Rainbow in SF. > > It is by Glutenfreeda and it is yummy. > > Apparently they have a large variety of quick foods. > > Works for me > > Melita (non baker, or maker of food - queen of the microwave) >
