Guest guest
Hi,I have just rejoined this group after a year and a half hiatus. So hello everyone!I'd like to see if anyone here has explored seed and nut flower baking. I am now using sunflower meal since i am allergic to all nuts plus sesame seed; so far success! Both with pancakes and muffins. Is anyone else here interested in this topic?Bea
Guest guest
HI, I don't know about sunflower meal, but I have a book called The Allergen-Free Baker's Handbook - How to Bake without Gluten, Wheat, Dairy, Eggs, Soy, Peanuts, Tree nuts, and Sesame, by Cybele Pascal. Long title! There are a few recipes in the index that have SunButter in the title, including cupcakes, buttercream frosting, and cookies. The book is in the library system in Santa Cruz too. Guest guest
Thanks Debbie. It looks like an interesting, wonderful book -- I checked out the covers and first pages and index on Amazon. I am exploring how to make things without any grains however since with candida overgrowth I don't tolerate any grains at all right now. The amazing thing is that it is working so far! I made some sunflower meal zucchini muffins that tasted great last night! Only thing I'd do different next time is to add a bit more zucchini and perhaps less egg since they pulled a punch due to all the protein in them... A little goes a long ways.Bea From: Beatrice Garth <beagarth (DOT) com>Subject: [ ] sunflower seed meal baking Date: Monday, August 2, 2010, 12:54 AM Hi, I have just rejoined this group after a year and a half hiatus.
