Am exploring an anti-candida, no casein gf diet. Am allergic to all nuts and at

this point, likely due to the candida overgrowth, all grains. So am exploring

making and using sunflower meal for pancakes etc. Any suggestions, comments

would be wonderful.

Just make sure to eat A LOT Of raw veggies. I especially like bell peppers ( I

eat them like apples) and lightly steamed broccoli. This should help. You will

probably be craving suagar, but just try to keep your sugar intake to a minimum.

When the cravings get really bad, I would go for dark chocolate. Just a

suggestion! This is what's helped me. Also, lots of good lean proteins are

important!

Thanks Chistie. I do eat a lot of veggies. However that mostly means salads and steamed veggies. I like your idea of just eating some of them by themselves raw.Am avoiding chocolate due to sugar and most likely casein not to speak of the caffeine. Am I wrong here? Its also hard to find a completely non CC kind of unsweetened chocolate. I may order some powdered cocoa for my boyfriend who also has celiac and is on this anti candida diet (though he can handle casein). Am of two minds about ordering it. The muffins I made using sunflower meal are amazing. I can't eat much of them at a time since they are so very filling. Ditto with the sunflower meal pancakes. But I guess that is a good thing... The recipes are pretty much identical to ones using almond flour (meal). I just add a cup or more of shredded zucchini!

The sunflower meal with eggs in the muffins is such concentrated protein that it makes me want veggies afterwards just to fluff up my innards so to speak, once I can handle eating again that is...I am eating extra oil-- coconut oil as well as olive. Am staying away from butter due to the problem I have with casein. The coconut oil is a good source of caprylic acid and thus good anti candida agent. Its also a good source of energy. And yes am eating a fair amount of lean meat too. But veggies meanwhile, as you mentioned, galore!BeaFrom: ChristieB <christiebessinger@...>Subject: [ ] Re: anti candida, no casein, gf
