Guest guest
Betelnut has a limited gf menu that's very yummy -- but make sure when you order that EVERYTHING that goes into your dish is truly gf. I ordered the cauliflower, which is made in a dedicated gf oil, but then the line cook grabbed a topping of some sort (can't remember what) from an open container that is used by all the cooks for non-gf dishes and tossed it on the caulilfower-- since the cooks add this topping to the dishes by hand, they could very well be contaminating the gf cauliflower. This may be a problem with other dishes there, as well. I would ask a lot of questions about cross contamination and ask to speak to the manager to make sure they really get it. When I pointed out to the cook that by putting on my dish something others had touched with potentially glutened hands, he seemed baffled. I only caught this because I was sitting at the bar so could see how they made the dishes.... -----Original Message----- From: Tercovich <catchrenee@...> Sent: Wed, Jun 9, 2010 10:22 am Subject: [ ] Need GF Restaurant in SF or Luncheon Betelnut is in the Marina and they have a dedicated menu for GFree. It's a bit of Asian / Thai Fusion I believe. Also - La Mediteranee in Fillmore also has a dedicated GF menu, although depending on the size of your meeting, it might not be a great choice as the restaurant is rather tiny.
