Guest guest
Hi:A friend told me about Good Chemistry Bakery at 3249 Grand Avenue this weekend. I tried it the minute I obtained the address. Here's what I found:I *loved* their chocolate scones. Yummy heaven! Their French bread was pretty good. I might buy it again. The French bread is also their only gluten-free/dairy-free item. That was disappointing. The owner and staff are super nice. They have a really cute cafe area and a few chairs. It's pretty close to shops and only a block away from the Lake Merritt Farmer's Market (Saturdays) and Trader Joe's/Walgreens on Lakeshore Blvd.Their lunch menu signs says lunches will begin July 27th. Not sure about their hours, I forgot to look...I was too busy eyeballing their goodies case. ;)The coffee was okay, but then again, I like it black and strong, think Peets. So, if you like middle of the road coffee, you'll be happy.I'll definitely be going back soon. Louise
