Ike's Place - Redwood Shores - long review

Well, today has been an exciting day. I was offered a new job (and will formally

accept tomorrow) in Redwood Shores, but another amazing thing is that I finally

got to go to Ike's Place for a wonderful GF sandwich!

So, I was on yelp and noticed you have to call ahead - you can't order there,

like you can at the location in SF. No big deal. I called at 10:30 and ordered

two sammies for after my interview. I figured I'd go surprise the other half at

her work in City and we'd go on a picnic. So, anywho, I ordered and asked

for it to be ready at 11:45.

My interview went a little longer than planned (and better than planned, too!)

so by the time I got there I was a bit late (about 10 minutes) but the really

nice guy who rang me up (and whom I later found out was also the guy who took my

order) said the sandwiches would be just fine, and if for some reason they

weren't to give him a call because they like happy customers.

As I was a new customer they told me they are very careful with gf and were very

well versed. The only thing (other than their freshly baked breads) that isn't

gf is their bbq sauce (and the obvious like of mozza sticks) but they are

working on finding one that is. In fact, when I offered to help, he immediately

smiled, said that would great and gave me his card.

So, I ordered the Rum Rum and for Barb I ordered the {Name of the Girl I'm

Dating}. Not only are their sandwiches fantastic, but they have amazing names

for them, too.

5 stars, no doubt. I will absolutely be going back, perhaps even tomorrow! We

both enjoyed our sandwiches, and their drink selection is fun - I had a fun

carbonated leninade soda with my lunch. Thus, two sammies, and two specialty

drinks for right around $20.

This new job might be dangerous - it's just a short bicycle ride away from Ike's

Place. Who wants to meet there for lunch one day? :)
