I am researching your questions, but wanted to touch base with you before my day off. As of right now we currently only use Godiva product in the Godiva Dark Chocolate Raspberry Freddo. I am still looking into the gluten question, as I know how important it is to be 100% accurate with this information. I will get back to as soon as I have that information for you J Please do not hesitate to give us a call if you have any questions, anyone here is more than happy to assist you, even if you simply have questions about coffee or tea. We are open six days a week: Monday through Thursday from 6am to 7pm PST, Friday from 6am to 6pm PST, and Saturday from 8am to 4pm PST. I wrote last month with a question about gluten and Peets products. I have another question regarding gluten. I understand that Peets sells a godiva chocolate drink -- and the godiva website says: "ALL of our products including solid chocolate pieces may contain gluten. Any person with a gluten allergy should NOT consume ANY of our products." Should I take this to mean that any of your drink products called "godiva" are off-limits to someone with celiac? Do you use Godiva products in any other Peets products? Thanks again. Best, Tristan Seifer -----Original Message----- From: trverb@... Webmail@... I am going to post your response on the Bay Area Celiac Listserv, where there are often questions about your products. The other 650+ members of the listserv will be pleased to hear that your coffee and tea drinks are safe. We will be eager to hear of any gluten free pastries etc at Peets! Our cocoa sauce contains high fructose corn syrup and sugar as sweeteners. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. I appreciate the details you offered. I have only one more question about your products -- you mention that your syrups are a mixture of sweeteners and Dutch Cocoa; could you please let me know what the sweeteners are? I know that some flavored syrups are sweetened with malt barley (or just "malt"), which does contain gluten. Just trying to make sure I can enjoy a sweet Peet coffee treat safely! Thanks! Sent: Sat, Jun 12, 2010 8:22 am Subject: RE: e$ Feedback: Other Hi Tristan, Thank you for your email! I am glad that I can share with you the following information. Our teas, and herbals (black, green, Oolong, white, and herbals) are made without gluten ingredients. The only exception would be our Genmai Cha which contains roasted rice kernels, so this tea would contain rice gluten, which is generally considered "safe gluten". In addition I would like to share that all of our coffees themselves are gluten free. Our Dutch Cocoa powder and syrup are both made without gluten ingredients. Our syrup is a mixture of sweeteners and Dutch Cocoa (which is ground cocoa) as well. The additional ingredients used in our various bar beverages (milk, Freddo powder, cocoa powder, and all of our other syrups) are all made without gluten ingredients. Our Pacific Soy Milk is made with organic soybeans, is both gluten free, and casein free. I am going to pass along your suggestion for Peet's to carry gluten free pastries. This topic has come up quite a bit recently so we are aware that there are more and more people who would love being able to buy a gluten free pastry along with their coffee. Which store do you visit frequently?
