Guest guest
Hello, Here a question for the " sport men/females " between us. I have been advised by a physiotherapist to start with aquajogging. According to the physiotherapist, aquajogging is an excellent sport to do for an LP like me, who has pseudoachondroplasia and at the moment has some problems with her joints and muscles. I have been told aquajogging is a great way to keep fit and helps to strengthen the muscles with no added stress to the joints. And it doesn't matter how tall you are, because you wear a jogging belt, which keep you floating in the deep water while you do exercises. So I wonder how many of you already have experience with aquajogging? Is this really a good activity for a LP to start with in the new millennium? Best wishes from e from the Netherlands

Guest guest
e--Water aerobics, inlcuding aqua jogging, is my favorite excercise!! I am a person with Diastrophic Dysplasia and I work out 3-5 times a week in the pool. I do about 15 minute of aerobic type excericses in the pool (I stadn on a step that puts the water at about chest level) and then use a " pool noodle " (this may be difficult to understand but it's a foam round thing that floats) under my arms and I essentially " jog " or bicycle for another 15 minutes around the pool. I've seen the belt thing, but I'm afraid my rear end would float up!!! the " noodle " works perfectly. Keep those joints moving as long as you can!! Guest guest
I have been Aquajogging for about six months. I am not a LP, but only stand at 4'10½ " . I am suffering with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, so using the water therapy is great. I use the 'noodle' and the plastic water bottles that are only half full, which also helps one work on their arm strength. It is a lot easier to work in the water, but watch that you dont overdo it! You can lose up to 75% of your body weight (feeling of!) in the water, so it makes it difficult to not overdo. I have been there, done that, and it works great!
