Guest guest
I received this through email but I believe it was intended for the list so I will post it: From : " dedeyoung " <dedeyoung@y...> To : " shortbigg " <mrsmith_1956@h...> Subject : Re: computer advice Date : Wed, 12 Dec 2001 20:13:10 -0000 I worked as tech support for a long time on computers. Software, hardware, and everythings else that goes along with them. If your going to buy a computer, make sure you have warranty for one thing, and make sure you set it all up as soon as you get home, don't let it sit in the box too long cause then you won't have time to test it all out. Emachines were really not that bad, just change the power supply, the modem, and the processor and then your good to go there. Don't buy anything with a celeron, in my experience there have been to many computers that were sent back to Wal-mart that had issues with celeron. ( I worked at Wal-mart and watched them all go back to claims). Also, when I worked as Tech support we had issues with celeron, it's not very compatiable with quit a few programs. Please trust me on that note. Gateway's are not bad, and neither are Dell's. Compaq sucks. Get something that has Pentium 1 and above. Thats your best shot. I hope this helps.
