Guest guest
Hi Alison, I've had great experiences at the Emeryville P.F. Chang's as well as one in Seattle. But then I've always eaten safely at In'n'Out, too. So sorry you got glutened. Bummer. I share the migraine reaction, by the way. Guest guest
Hi Alison,I've eaten at pf chang's probably 5 times at different locations over the last 10 months I would say. I've never gotten sick. They have special plates that look different then others also signifying that the dish is gluten free. As well as a dedicated gf menu. Also, that's weird about in n out. I've never got sick from them. I wonder what happened. That's no fun at all. Although, I have been fairly lucky with eating out. Guest guest
Hey everybody - I've always had luck at PF Chang's. In N Out puts the sauce on with a brush that also touches the bread, so ask them to put your sauce on from the squeeze bottle (they keep it for putting sauce on fries) or ask for no sauce - they also have mustard & ketchup in squeeze bottles.KC PomeringG-Free FoodieFrom: Palmer, <palmer@...>Subject: RE: [ ] pf chang's?" Guest guest
My GF wife has had no problem at PF Changs in San , Sunnyvale, and Las Vegas. One thing you have to watch out for is the soy sauce bottle on the table. Make sure they bring you the wheat-free soy sauce. Guest guest
Hi all, i have eaten at PF Changs many times, in the Bay Area, LA, Boston, and San Diego. All were fine except the last one which was in July and actually in LA. It was take-out from a PF Changs in the Westside, though I am not sure what the location was. My friends ordered and picked up, and double checked. The dish - Singapore Street Noodles was labeled gluten free. however, I noticed it was slightly darker color than usual and was hesitant to eat it. Within 5 minutes of eating it I started to get sick and was sick for several days after - the usual Celiac way. I would recomend against take-out (had problems with that at other restarurants) and against going at busy times like Sat. night. This was take-out on a Saturday night and I guess I was just pushing my luck. I think they made a mistake in the kitchen. The conclusion is that PF Changs is pretty good, but no place is 100% safe, there is always a risk to eating out. I've eaten there without problems all the time! Make sure that your dishes have " PF Chang " printed on them when they bring them out; that's how they denote GF in the kitchen. --Ruth Anne

Guest guest
This exact same situation happened to us too! Sounds like PF Chengs could use a little feedback. I do remember that some time ago (over a year ago) we had a discussion on this list about PF Chang’s that centered on problems at the Palo Alto restaurant; at that time several people had bad experiences while others had eaten there without a problem. It seemed as though some cooks were more careful or better trained than others. None of the messages in the current discussion specifically mention the Palo Alto PF Chang’s. I was eating at PF Chang’s fairly often until Dr. Gray at Stanford suggested I reconsider as some of his patients were getting gluten hits from eating there. Fortunately or unfortunately, I don’t have an immediate or acute reaction to getting glutened but because my antibody #’s were still quite elevated after going gluten free for a number of months, I decided to stop eating at PF Changs altogether.
