Agree. I decided to try out Cafe Calafia (a rare move for me; I usually confine

my dining out to sushi joints) after reading an interview with the chef, who

seemed to be very familiar with our diet. Unfortunately, however, that info

doesn't seem to have filtered down to the staff. When I informed my server that

I had celiac disease, she said, " Is that like being vegan? "

I would suggest putting this on Yelp.com.

I use that site religiously - and if anyone wants to follow me, for the past

year I almost always include notes about how GF, DF friendly the restaurant was.

How many options, the staff, etc.

On a related note, if you go to Kauai for example - the awareness there of

ingredients and food sensitivities is amazing. I still cannot for the life of me

figure out why in such a progressive area like the Bay Area, we have restaurants

acting and responding like this.

Thank you for sharing and I seriously encourage you to Yelp this.

Thanks!

ARGHHH.

used to applaud them for having marked GF items on their menu and I used to

recommend them to friends.
