Guest guest
Online Survey Gathers Input for Nonprofit Agenda OMB Watch (http://www.ombwatch.org/), the nonpartisan, nonprofit policy watchdog group, has posted a new online survey designed to gather input from a cross-section of the nonprofit sector concerning the development of a nonprofit agenda to present to America's next president. The survey (http://ombwatch.org/npadv/2000/survey.html), which is being co-sponsored by the Advocacy Institute (http://www.advocacy.org/), the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (http://www.ncrp.org/), and the Union Institute (http://www.tui.edu/), addresses 35 ideas in six categories that could lead to specific recommendations to strengthen the sector -- particularly that segment of it that addresses issues of social justice. The ideas presented in the survey were developed in conversations with representatives from foundations and local, state, and national nonprofits during previous presidential transitions. Survey respondents can comment on and rate the ideas in terms of their importance, as well as provide specific recommendations of their own. After analyzing the responses, the survey's organizers will make the results available for review and comment by participants, and then will convene an advisory group to develop specific recommendations based on the top-ranked ideas.
