spain and france trip

Hello All,

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving holiday!

I'm headed to Spain (Madrid, Cordova, Granada and Barcelona) and Paris for a

much needed vacation over the holidays. This will be my first extended and

international trip since being diagnosed with CD in March this year.

Has anyone been to any of these cities and can recommend places to eat?

Has anyone flown KLM before and had their gluten-intolerant meal?

I could use some tips about travelling internationally or on longer trips- what

kinds of things people packed with them, etc.

So far I have found: www.afdiag.org which is a french celiac website (all in

french!). But I will be staying with friends in Paris and will have access to a

kitchen while I'm there.

I also bought Triumph Dining cards so I plan to make copies and bring them with

me for dining and language barriers. I also came across a spanish celiac group

that had restaurant names- I need to track that down again.

For food- I was going to pack some snacks and sandwiches to eat on my flight

over there. I am also planning on taking some glutenfreeda instant oatmeal for

breakfast, a loaf of Udi's, some peanut butter, gluten-free crackers, Lara bars

and cereal bars. That way I can just supplement my breakfasts and lunches with

fruit, cheese and veggies. Then hopefully I will only have to worry about dinner

out once a day!

I guess I should also pack my supplements and some tummy meds in case things go

wrong and I can be assured what I have with me is gluten-free- any advice on

this?

I also need to write a review on my trip to denver/boulder- I had such a great

time there eating out!

Thanks!

Alison

Contact the Celiac Disease Foundation. They forward international inquiries to support leaders all the time. They may have a record of those who have contacted them from France and Spain. Batavia----- "alisonjhughes25" <alison.j.hughes@...> wrote:
