Guest guest
I think it's great to gather info from people on this listserv, but I would caution you to discuss all the options with your physician and follow her/his prep directions. All preps are not equal and all preps are not appropriate for everyone. Sent from my tin can and string. Please excuse mumbling and static. -----Original Message----- From: Melita R <leftcoastmelita@...> Sent: Thu, Oct 14, 2010 5:50 pm Subject: [ ] colonoscopy prep info Margaret, I know that there are some tablets you can take. Guest guest
Yes, check with your dcctor, asking careful questions about appropriateness. Some medical sources state that one version carries a slight risk factor. They aren't all equal in every way. I've always opted for a version that calls for a lot of liquid -- but I didn't have to drink it all at once, and the amount didn't cause me any problem with nausea. When I was sharing a very small house with others, I checked into a motel for the night before the procedure. I wanted my own bathroom and plenty of privacy for that night. Guest guest
Thanks to all who replied to my inquiry. Of course, I would never even think of changing my prep without discussing with the dr., but I was trying to see if anyone could tell me the name of alternative preps they used. The prep I was looking for was Osmoprep. It's tablets and I found it much more palatable than drinking a lot of liquid. Thanks again for your input, Margaret On Thu, Oct 14, 2010 at 5:50 PM, Melita R <leftcoastmelita@...> wrote: Margaret,I know that there are some tablets you can take. Guest guest
Do you need to drink a lot of water with OsmoPrep? Guest guest
Naturally, drinking lots of liquid is essential to prep for a colonoscopy. The prep for OsmoPrep requires lots of clear liquid, but isn't limited to water. Personally, I prefer sparkling water and that is what I drank.
