Guest guest
This (copied below) is from KeriAnn, so I¹m just talking myself through this now to figure it out, as I want to purchase as much as I can today. I will have to wait for the Blue Ice to be shipped though I guess, unless anyone has heard of a brick and mortar store that might sell it? The no white flours and no sugars shouldn¹t be hard....i¹m not too worried about that part, the child in question does use Redmond¹s Real Salt, so that¹s good. She mentioned putting the trace minerals into milk. This child has never drank milk consistently, for several reasons. Any ideas how I can get the trace minerals into him? Okay to put in his foods???? (right?) My older child LOVES yogurt. Never been able to get much into this one. I will try again. I guess I could also try Kefir in that regard, but I will have to find one with no sugar........hmmmm..... I have stevia to sweeten things for him and I have real maple syrup and honey and agave syrup (all of which I know should be limited) I have trouble getting this child to usually consume large amounts of anything, but I¹m feeling very.....somehwat at least, hopeless about getting him to consume large amounts of nutrient dense foods. I feel like I HAVE to try the other things even though his diet is lacking, KWIM? It is distressing and hard to feed a child of this age, when you feel like you know what they should have, but you have no idea how to get it in them. At least my oldest was so ³easy² in this regard. He just naturally ate all of the healthy things..... Chantelle Ps-his brother and I LOVE our leafy greens. My oldest literally jumps for joy over collards or spinach and the like and begs me for more. Pss-I¹m open to all suggestions about sneaky ways with any of this. I¹m ready to try again even things I¹ve tried in the past. # Trace mineral supplement like Concentrace. Concentrace to just under the level it is tastable in every single drink and smoothie. You can add up to 10 drops of it in a cup of milk or smoothie without noticing it. Get just as much into yourself as you possibly can. You can get Concentrace or Vitamin Shoppe's No Name Brand version. We use the NNB because it's cheaper. # CLO- 1/2 tsp three times a day of the Blue Ice, or less of the fermented version. We currently use the fermented. # Butter Oil or Liquid K2- If you're allergic to dairy, take Thorne's Liquid K2. # No sugar # No white flours # Salt to taste- use celtic salt or Redmond's Real Salt. # Probiotics in large doses, including probiotics foods # Consume large amounts of nutrient dense foods and bone broths, and plenty of leafy greens. It contains all the trace minerals you need. 2-4 oz. in a foot bath for about 10 minutes will go through the skin in feet and into the tissues. It's better to do it this way than through food. That's just my opinion though. Magnesium oil can be made from water and nigari crystals. If you cannot find Japanese nigari crystals in Phoenix, you'll have to order it from here: http://www.naturalimport.com/inc/sdetail/9957 When I called around Tucson to all the Asian imports stores, asking about nigari, they all thought I was from Mars. > My older child LOVES yogurt. I don't recommend store bought Kefir - and for several reasons. They use a dead powder to " populate " it with probiotic, the milk source is questionable and what they do to the milk before they kefir it is even more questionable. Make your own kefir with grains - you can find them through the local Phoenix WAP chapter. , who runs the chapter in Chandler would be able to help you locate some. You can find her information here: http://westonaprice.org/localchapters/index.html#az > I have stevia to sweeten things for him and I have real maple syrup > and honey and agave syrup (all of which I know should be limited) Grade B maple syrup is best. So is raw honey. Put the agave nectar down the garbage disposal. It's worse than white sugar. Natural News just did an eyepopping expose on agave nectar. > I have trouble getting this child to usually consume large amounts > of anything, but I¹m feeling very.....somehwat at least, hopeless > about getting him to consume large amounts of nutrient dense foods. For us, the best way to start eating healthy was by example. Keep only the foods you like around the house and eat them in front of (overly observant) eyes. Make a big deal about how the nutrient dense stuff is the best tasting food you've ever eaten. Of course my three year old would eat chicken mcnuggets every day if I let him - but he's starting to appreciate eggs over medium with organically raised bacon and sprouted toast, especially when he's hungry. > I feel like I HAVE to try the other things even though his diet is > lacking, KWIM? Take the CLO/HVBO with him - call it " nemo juice " or something. Make kefir smoothies and drink them with him - comment on how good it tastes. Invest in a cheapy foot bath vessel from Target and invite him to join in your foot bath with the mag. oil. -vanessa .... it's good for you too
Guest guest
Oh definitely (agreeing with the last part of your email). I was encouraged just before getting your email too as I watched the 3 videos on you tube that went through the protocol. I found out I can start with the kerrigold butter at least, so that I don¹t have to wait for the blue ice to come to start. Yay! The child LOVES butter, so that part will be easy at least. I mean he¹ll eat that like slices of cheese....... I always have eaten healthy in front of him and talked about how good it is. So does dh (in terms of liver and things like that that are actually health) and so does my older son. So I don¹t know why all of our example isn¹t good enough for him! At the same time, I¹m thankful he doesn¹t like white bread, white flour stuff at least. It was very hard to get this child to eat anything(originally...ages 1 and 2) but breastmilk. (he still nurses, but not much at this age) He¹s very limited in his diet, but at least he likes grass fed meats (but won¹t eat the liver like the rest of us do) (I¹m going to try to sneak this into something until the CLO arrives), that is if sprouts has grass fed liver....i sure hope they do! Oh and he loves eggs! So that¹s good..... Great idea bout the foot bath....I think I have something that will work for that..... Thanks for all the ideas!!!! Thanks for telling me about . Is there a brand of sprouted bread I should look for? (I¹ve seen this at sprouts and some of my other stores) Are any of the sprouted breads okay? The child will eat bread and butter and always eats only whole grain breads, when he¹s eating that, so I think it will be easy to get the kerrigold into him using the sprouted bread. Kwim? Chantelle Ps-the other thing I didn¹t mention is that his ³hunger² signals are off (which is a problem myself have had and my first one sometimes did too, but he seems to have overcome of it. All (three) of us, but ESPECIALLY this child will go all day without eating if allowed to! Obviously I try HARD to avoid him doing this, but there are times he only takes a few bites at each meal and other times when I really feel he¹s eaten little for a good portion of a day. Obviously this is worrisome to a mom, but I Œve done everything I can to keep this from happening very often. (he will even refuse foods he has always liked during some of these times) Any tips and ideas on that are also appreciated. I¹ve allowed dh to let him eat some things I never would have , simply because I get concerned over this behavior of his. Your post about ³when your kid is hungry² reminded me of this. On the outside, I treat this all very calm and try to keep it from becoming something that he will just be stubborn about. I act very nonchalant when suggesting various foods I know he might like. Sometimes watching me eat something will get him to want to eat it, but sometimes he just insists he still doens¹t want any food. Guest guest
If the little fella has bowel issues you'd have to add " no flours or starches, brown or white " and " No grains of any kind including spelt rye buckwheat and quinoa " , and " no beans " . The best information on bowel health is available on the candidasis list: http://tinyurl.com/candidiasis I usually suggest montmorillonite for the mineral, an analysis of one, Kona Gold, used to be listed on the Integrisglobal.com site. Guest guest
, the swimmers in salt water would quickly be poisoned if they were absorbing minerals without controls. There is no reason to expect that transdermal absorption of trace minerals occurs, and my opinion would have to be changed by DATA to that effect. Guest guest
Thanks Duncan. No bowell issues here. (this all began with me realizing that his teeth (not serious issue yet either) could surely be helped by this. When I watched the online videos I did, it made me realize just how bad some teeth are. His situation is nothing like that, but at the same time, if we can do anything to avoid more cavities, that¹s sure what we need to do! ( I never had any cavities as a child, and neither did my oldest, nor did my dh, from what he has told me) (also, so far he¹s had no dental work done on cavities (dentist only mentioned decay of two front teeth, but said they could just be watched. That decay IS very obvious and I was concerned but the latest cavity concerns me a lot more, since molars come out a lot later than front teeth) (and obviously I want our regimen fully in place before we are even dealing with permanent teeth having come in!) I do appreciate getting to discuss all this though. The more I get to process and discuss it, the better the likelihood of me working through exactly what I need to do! (in absence of currently knowing any local support). I¹m checking out the website gave me though, so hopefully the lack of local support will change ! Chantelle Ps-I had a talk with my older child about all this tonight and he was excited about it. He said, ³That¹s how I like to eat anyway!² (I don¹t think he fully understood, but I liked his positive attitude and he does eat very healthy) On 12/1/08 7:45 PM, " Duncan Crow " <duncancrow@...> wrote: > > > > If the little fella has bowel issues you'd have to add " no flours or > starches, brown or white " and " No grains of any kind including spelt > rye buckwheat and quinoa " , and " no beans " . Guest guest
So what about all the many people who say they get magnesium from epsom salt baths or from magnesium " oil " , or other topical application of magnesium salts? If that is different, I'd like to understand why. thanks, sol Duncan Crow wrote: > , the swimmers in salt water would quickly be poisoned if they > were absorbing minerals without controls. Guest guest
> > Thanks for all the ideas!!!! YW!! > All (three) of us, but ESPECIALLY this child will go all day > without eating if allowed to! One thing I've learned about kids - I have four - is that they eat what they need. Their little internal clocks are finely tuned and as long as you keep what they need available (nutrient dense foods) and let them know that it's okay to ask for things - that's about all your job needs to be. One of my girlfriends has three young girls. She does not keep heavy snacks around the house much - so when it's time to eat - those girls eat. They are on a tight budget, so that may have something to do with it. It's us, who spend ungodly amounts of money on food - and usually stuff our bodies don't need - that this is an issue. Another thing you can try - get creative with coconut oil. Whizzed-up VCO, dates, crispy nuts, a teeny amount of sweetner (not agave), throw in some coconut flake or raw cacao or even coconut butter creates a nutrient dense snack. I tend to make a bigger deal out of a pot of beans with an organic hamhock that has simmered in homemade stock all day. -vanessa .... sometimes he agrees, sometimes not so much
